Older metal cabinet latch question
Any one have one of these old metal cabinets with a lift handle latch? I'm looking for a new handle as the one I have, a previous owner broke it and put a knob in its place. I would lime to know the proper name for it so I can replace it. Thank you.

Looks like what I'd call a "gate latch".

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

My grandmom's metal cabinet made it to me. The latch pivots at the top, dropping a metal stop bar into the receiving hook. It was only pressed sheet metal.

I see the cabinets in the rubbish, a few per year. Other ones, someone has rudely fastened a hasp into the metal.

If you have six months, one will surely surface.

She had wood and glass kitchen cabinet doors with a fancier chrome-plated metal latch, same design principal.
