Delta Junction / Ft. Greely / Fairbanks, Alaska 5 good winters... Temps of -50*F below zero and greater were not uncommon... Coldest I witnessed while working outside (Cold Regions Test Center / Ft.Greely, Alaska) on a calibrated ( + or - 1/2 degree) thermometer was -82*F (chill factor -127*F).....Actually slept outside on ground in Arctic sleeping bags at -45*F and was comfortable till had to unzip and come out of the sleeping bag........ At those temps you have to use your head or you could suffer serious cold related injuries....Come out in morning with even a slight touch of moisture on your hand and when you grab the vehicle door handle you are stuck and have to call the fire dept to bring the blow torches so you can get unstuck......... Also winterize your vehicle parking spot with a hitching post to plug the battery blanket / block heater / battery trickle charger / electric cabin heater that might keep cabin temp -0*F if you are lucky to protect the interior materials from cracking due to the cold... Tires can develop flat spots if not properly inflated and develop a rough ride for a short distance. .................... drill sgt..

Wife's college roommate was from ND. Her glove box kit included a 40' piece of rope. Used to tie yourself off to the steering wheel if you had to exit the car when stuck during a blizzard.

For anyone who has not done the maff, -40°C is the same temperature as -40°F. Forty below 0 is the only temperature at which C and F are the same. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
