Sounds like a babysitter or neighborhood kid somehow got your amazon password and is ordering them and hoping to intercept the deliveries.....unless you have a kid that's ordering them and hoping you don't notice.

First item went back. Second item will go back Monday.

This is on Amazon's radar as of this morning.

Our babysitter is an adult who watches our son along with her kids.

Amazon confirmed that the items aren't coming from my wife's account.

My wife got a couple of things last year and when she contacted Amazon they told her they didn't want them back. It was a red flag to us and we checked and monitored for 8 months and nothing happened. I got a Solar powered security light for nothing , but the rest was just more or less junk.

We received a couple of boxes of wine bottles from a wine supply company, which we returned. Someone else was charged for the shipment. I contacted the police (I had previously met the officer who does fraud - he is one of the busiest officers on the 40 person force).

The person who paid for the wine probably had their card stolen or hacked. The officer had seen things like this before and sometimes they are just pranks on the person whose card was charged, and sometimes the idea is to intercept the delivery on the porch before the recipient gets home.

The officer allowed as how the sums of money were too low to start an investigation but he would contact the purchaser (who lives in another town) so they would know what happened.

About a year ago I got 2 shipments via Amazon Prime. One was a $100. Parker pen (if it was legit Parker and not counterfeit), the other a 25 cent promotional style pen. Both times I contacted Amazon and was told they would get back to me. They never did. My Amazon account was not used nor was my credit card used. Both items were shipped from an Amazon fulfillment center, not a 3rd party shipper. I threw both away cause I didnt want them in the house.

Last year my wife had her Amazon account abruptly shut down. The reason was a laconic “excessive returns.”

Her purchase list didn’t show anything we didn’t order and we had no returns at all. I did find a couple of other “ship to” addresses and killed them. We did get a very cheap cellphone cover.

The problem with Amazon is you can’t talk to a live human. Sure you can get a customer service rep but they have nothing to do with fixing the accounts. I appealed the shut down but got the same “excessive returns.” Finally, I opened my own prime account.

The scam is called "brushing" it involves sellers creating fake accounts and ordering their own merchandise to be sent to random addresses in an attempt to boost their reviews. Once delivered, the seller can write a legitimate looking verified purchase review.

They will find a way to fix the problem.

Didn't used to be that way. A couple years ago or so they out-sourced customer service to off-shore contractors who haven't the power or ability to do a damn thing.

You can get around this and talk to a real, live, honest-to-God human being that both speaks and understands English and can actually get things done, but it's like pulling teeth.

This is one of the reasons I rarely buy from Amazon anymore. Were it not for Prime Video, we would certainly cancel Prime we use them so little, any more.

Since you work from home and can see the mailbox from where you are, get an Arlo (or similar) wireless camera system, set up an account, point a camera at the mailbox, and than check the video library at the end of the day.

I did a search for Amazon phone number and got a real person who spoke decent English and he sounded competent in being able to start their process to get this issue solved.

A couple of weeks ago I got a package that contained a small drone. I don't remember having ordered one, but I've done a few purchases lately that involved "free" bonus items, so I didn't think much about it. I don't think I still have the original packaging. I have yet to try to fly the thing.

Some months back I was advised by e-mail from a bank in the Philippines (BDO) asking if I'd purchased a laptop over there. Their only contact was a phone number, so I didn't call. I've never been to the Philippines and certainly did not buy a laptop there. I don't have an account with BDO. I did check my other credit accounts to see if a purchase showed up--nope. I got another e-mail the other day from BDO saying they were closing the account for lack of activity. I did respond to that message.

As an aside, this is a good time to get hers and any other debit card off this site and every other. Pretty much everyone recommends credit only for online transactions, especially stored payment info.

My question is "how did you get hold of a human?"

I order an in-stock twin bed frame on June 16, Amazon, not 3rd party. Free delivery by June 30, and I need by July 2 at the latest.

June 26, still not shipped. No way to get a hold of anyone. Just a computer chat that says will be delivered by July 5.

June 26 found a $20 bed on offer up and bought it and cancelled the Amazon order. Assholes.

I just put in a search for Amazon Phone number, got an 1-888 240 4331

Followed a couple prompts and bingo had a person on the other end of the phone.
