Ottawa police open 'hate crime' hotline despite zero violence at truckers' protest

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/321554

Police chief calls protest "dangerous in every aspect" but can only point to "massive traffic chaos & gridlock" as damages caused.

Canadian police in Ottawa are launching a “hate crime” hotline in the wake of the massive truckers anti-vaccine-mandate protest, Fox News reports, even though Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly admits that the protest has not resulted in riots, injuries, or deaths.

Speaking at an online press conference, Sloly called the protest “polarizing in context, dangerous in literally every aspect,” and credited law enforcement officials for keeping the city safe, although he could not point to any instance of dangerous behavior that was nipped in the bud.

“Within the next 24 hours we are going to be creating a hotline for hate incidents – hate crimes, any offenses directly related to the demonstrations, including criminal offenses, threats, assaults, hate-related crimes, mischiefs, anything that any member of the community, any visitor, any demonstrator has faced in terms of criminal activity,” the Police Chief said, adding that, “a hotline will be established to receive those reports. There will be an immediate investigation until we have resolved it by way of charge and prosecution.”

Sloly also threatened drivers who participated in the protest and were spotted with license plates from other provinces, warning that they could face prosecution. “No matter where you live, no matter where your vehicle is registered, if you have come here and committed a crime … you will be investigated,” he said. “We will look for you … we will arrest you, and we will pursue prosecutions against you.”

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson added that there had been “displays of hate symbols, like the Confederate flag and the swastika,” although photographic testimony from the four days of the protest failed to produce more than a single image of one placard bearing a swastika drawn under the words, “*** Trudeau.” That didn't stop multiple media outlets from accusing the protesters of utilizing Nazi symbols.

I assume tow drivers there are pretty much the same as tow drivers here.

If so, yeah, calling them about this is a non-starter for several reasons.

https://westernstandardonline....pply-trucks-to-rcmp/

Authorities searching for tow truck companies to assist in the removal of trucks from Coutts border blockade are coming up empty-handed.

According to local towing companies, requests have come in since Sunday for trucks to assist RCMP should they look to haul away trucks and other vehicles participating in the border blockade.

The Western Standard spoke with a number of tow truck companies in southern Alberta including in Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

City Wide towing in Calgary said they had tow trucks at the blockade yesterday to help support anyone in need, but confirmed no trucks stayed on scene.

“Our trucks won’t be heading outside of Calgary today,” said a call centre employee at City Wide who did not want to give her name.

“We will be remaining in Calgary to service the surrounding area.”

TnT Towing in Lethbridge is one of the largest towing companies in the area. When contacted, the person who answered the phone said they had no comment but did indicate they had been contacted.

“We don’t know who it was that called, but we don’t want to get involved so we won’t be commenting.”

Ken Hauck Towing in Medicine Hat has the capacity to haul heavy trucks, but when asked if they had been contacted to supply any tow trucks to the border, they said they had not been contracted as of yet.

One smaller towing company in southern Alberta that was approached to supply tow trucks said they are “stuck between a rock and a hard place.”

“We have created relationships in our community and contracts that would be in jeopardy if we participate in any way,” said a worker at the towing company who asked to remain anonymous to avoid any negative response to his company.

“A lot of these smaller companies don’t want to ruin their reputation in the communities they serve so they don’t want to get involved,” he said.

“We have received calls here to supply our trucks, but we’ve also had calls from locals who won’t identify themselves asking if we plan to send trucks. When I told them ‘no’ they said ‘good then we will keep supporting you.’”

The Western Standard spoke with Abe Martens from Xodus Car Transport out of Lethbridge County. Martens’ company focuses on transporting vehicles, but also offers towing services.

“We are here with our trucks at the blockade, but we are participating and are in full support of the truckers,” said Martens.

Martens joined blockade organizer Nick Friesen for a live update with the Western Standard on Monday afternoon.

RCMP said it will not discuss tactics or what it’s planning next at the blockade.

Oh I bet wittle Justin is really stomping his feet and throwing a tantrum over the refusal of the towing companies to bend to government's demands to tow the trucks away from the capital. Let us all know when of if your balls ever drop there wittle Justin, we've got a couple thousands truckers that would like a face to face with you.

It occurs to me that what this protest needs is really really big trucks and heavy equipment. You know, like what you find on mining and logging sites...filled with steel and gravel and logs 'n' stuff.

They may not fit in downtown streets, but I'm sure those protesters could find a place to 'park' them.

Trudeau is finished - he just doesn't realize it yet. Either the people of Canada push him out, or the globalists take him out for causing too much harm to the power structure they've built.

This would be like one of the founding fathers suing the federal government for violating the constitution.

Yes, it is a long video but the first 22minutes or so lays out a good understand of what is happening and why a lawsuit is being brought by the last living member of the group of lawmakers who signed the law that is to Canadians what our Constitution and bill of rights is to Americans.

It also does a good job explaining why the current Canadian excuse of covid does not at all meet the spirit or criteria of the law’s exceptions for threats and severe circumstances that threaten the very life of the state.

I am teaching myself how to embed code for videos so I am sorry if this doesn’t work. I am worried it might only work for Apple/iPhone users but I am not sure.

Look at their concerns with forming a debate on this and their worry about views of forming a narrative. Look at the transparency. I wonder what a behind the scenes moment at CNN, MSLSD, FOX News and the rest of the “media” would look like? I feel like it would not look at all like that conversation in the fist 10 minutes of the video.
