Like the press here in the US, the Canadian press has worked hard over the last 30-years to libel and disparage anybody who identifies or associates themselves with the Conservative party while over-stating and pumping up the Liberal and Greens. Thus, your province or, territory may be quite rural or, you hold traditional/conservative values important but, people continue to vote Left against their best interests. Then there's the Quebecois...the giant curve-ball to Canada.

Canada has no main stream media that is not wholly far left. All of the main stream media are also paid by the current government. Thus most Canadians only see news through the MSM filter. Also importantly, Canadians trust big government. For some reason the majority can not actually believe that government causes as many problems as they solve. For example, hospital bed shortages are blamed on Covid, yet they pre existed it. Here in Alberta the province funded 1400 intensive care beds, yet claimed to be at 90% capacity with 320 ICU beds filled. And interestingly enough, there were that many filled 2016-2018 as well. Still the average Canadian thinks socialized medicine is the best thing in Canada.

GoFundMe has frozen the trucker's donations, it's quite significant and now some asshole from the Ottawa govt is trying to confiscate it.
I honestly think they are trying to start a war or at least a "Go Galt" situation with these guys.
Maybe after a week of missed meals and completely empty supermarket shelves this Ottawa govt swamp dweller will think twice of what he's done.

Even though we have a LOT here trying to fuck over freedom, it just goes to show you what every other country on earth is all about. Oh Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a bunch others need a rude awakening. It took truckers to wake up oh Canada. I hope it takes.

He ran to his bunker, not for safety or from fear but as a political positioning tool, using the press to make the protesters out to be the extreme ones.
He's using the same playbook as the left is here with Jan 6th, make the folks showing up look like a radical fringe and try to associate anyone who has a different viewpoint than JT's governments protection of the people plan as the problem.
Sad part is this will work on many, who have already drank so much kool-aid on covid they can't back up and reassess their position.
