JustaTurdeaux said that “We must have mandates in order to get rid of the restrictions.”

Look at all the real estate this takes up on the page.

This is called "nested quotes" and it's unnecessary. If you're going to use the quote function, streamline it. Distill it down to only the portion you want to quote. If you're not sure how to do this, please ask.

The Drivers should pull the computer chips out of the trucks and have a loyal person hold on to them. Even if the authorities got master keys they could still not move them. Let them try to procur computer chips in todays world.

You would have to remove the whole Engine ECU for that.
Usually not a 3 minute task, and with being cooled by fuel you'd have to have a pan for the spilled fuel.
Then you'd have to install it and prime the fuel system.
Some don't like a big slug of air and are a PITA to bleed out.

Just yank all the ECM fuses out.
Wouldn't be the first time an ECM fuse mysteriously vanished into thin air.

Greg Gutfeld says this is a class issue. To an extent, I agree, but note that the left has supported people of a different class when they aided and abetted BLM and Antifa rioters.

No, to a great extent, this is about race. I look at those Canadian truckers and all I see are white faces. If the truckers were black or some race other than white, Trudeau would be out there kissing their asses and offering any sort of assistance he could provide. This phony asshole is like all leftists- divide the people, make them hate and fear each other, then achieve and retain power in that divide.

Really, his remarks and the attitudes of the members of Canadian Parliament and of the bureaucrats in charge in Ottawa are indescribably infuriating to me. Yes, Trudeau and the heads of his party are elitists, but they are also racists, as leftists the world over seem to be.

Need a Freedom Forum to organize USA truckers, farmers, et al.

New Zealand, Alaska, Brazil all have truckers uniting. I’m sure there are many others…

Suspect in Canada trucker protest hit-and-run is militant Antifa punk rocker

https://nypost.com/2022/02/08/...ocker-david-zegarac/

The suspect arrested over the car-ramming attack against “Freedom Convoy” anti-vaccine mandate protesters in Winnipeg is an Antifa member with a long history of far-left militant activism in Canada.

David Alexander Zegarac, 42, of Headingley, Manitoba, allegedly sped off in his Jeep Patriot to try and escape after the incident last Friday, which injured four people and was caught on camera. Zegarac ran multiple lights and resisted arrest when he was finally caught around 40 minutes later, according to the Winnipeg Police.

Zegarac was well-known as the frontman and vocalist of several Antifa punk bands since the early 2000s, most notably, Brat Attack. He was vocal about his veganism and radical anarchist politics. However, in 2015, record label Rebel Time records dropped the group because of multiple accusations of sexual assault and rape against Zegarac. One of his anonymous accusers said she was only 13 when he allegedly groomed her and raped her. Police said he does not have a criminal history in Manitoba, though he has also lived in British Columbia and Newfoundland.

Zegarac’s music is extremely political and often features violent extremist themes consistent with the subgenre of anti-fascist punk. One of the tracks from Brat Attack was written about the former Conservative prime minister, Stephen Harper. Titled “Hey Harper You Anti-Choice Homophobe F,— Die Die Die,” it includes the lyrics: “This is class war, you rich white f—ks. Ruling class is s— out of luck. Your god is f–king dead, I shot him in the head.”

On Deviant Art, Zegarac posted Antifa art under the username, “DaveyBrat.” One illustration uploaded in 2011 shows an Antifa member in black bloc hurling a firebomb. Zegarac’s YouTube channel features his music and performances. A song from seven years ago is called, “Bash the Fash” and the video features the Antifa black and red flag logo.

On Zegarac’s Facebook, he has mocked anti-mandate protesters and in one post from November 2020, wrote, “I dont know why folk are hating on masks….I love mine.”

With the revelation of Zegarac’s name and his deep roots in Canada’s Antifa punk scene, Antifa supporters who know him are going into damage control. Winnipeg Punks, whose current avatar on Facebook is a crossed-out truck, released a statement distancing themselves from him.

“Dave is despised by every group or organization he’s ever claimed to represent. ARA [Anti-Racist Action], Antifa, Punk. He’s a poseur!” wrote the group in a statement. “He has a reputation of assault and violence. How many young (underage) women in the local music scene and other provinces have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Dave over the years?”

Zegarac has been charged with 11 offenses. They include four counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, two counts of failure to stop after an accident knowing reckless cause of bodily harm, two counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and one count of dangerous operation of a conveyance. A Winnipeg police spokesman said in a news conference on Saturday that they couldn’t speak to the driver’s motivations.

Funny CBC is strangely silent on an actual act of violence and one quite likely instigated by the PM’s rhetoric.

Looks like the protesting by the Canadian truckers has worked in Alberta. Restrictions will start to be rolled back at midnight tonight continuing through the end of February.

Alberta, Canada, To End Vaccine Passport By Midnight

quote:
Jason Kenney, Premier of Alberta, Canada, has announced that several COVID-19 restrictions, including the COVID-19 vaccine passport which mandated proof of vaccine for entry into various businesses, will end at 11:59 p.m. local time Tuesday night. This is the first in a three-step plan to eliminate the majority of COVID-19 rules by the end of February and comes after weeks of massive protests throughout Canada against the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now is the time to begin learning to live with COVID,” Kenney said. “These restrictions have led to terrible division.”

“We cannot remain at a heightened state of emergency forever. We have to begin to heal.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Kenney pledged to “fight” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vaccine mandate for Canadian truckers.

“If the Canada-USA trucker vaccine mandate wasn’t bad enough, now Justin Trudeau wants to bring in a mandate for truckers going between provinces,” Kenney tweeted.

“Alberta will fight this every step of the way – including in court, if we have to,” he declared.

Truckers, following in the footsteps of the Ottawa ‘Freedom Convoy,’ have been blockading the U.S-Canadian border, demanding that the Canadian government drop all forms of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.

Kenney alluded to those protests and other Canadians upset with the restrictions as part of his nighttime address Tuesday night, according to Edmonton CTV News:

The premier also talked about how pandemic rules have “inflamed” disputes amongst Albertans and “disrupted and even destroyed livelihoods.”

“We’ll never be able to do a full accounting of the extent of the pain and hardship that restrictions have caused,” Kenney said.

The premier added that many countries, states, and provinces are also removing restrictions as Omicron case numbers fade.

“We cannot remain at a heightened state of emergency forever. We have to begin to heal, and so Alberta will move on. But we’ll do so carefully, we’ll do so prudently, we will do so only if it does not threaten the capacity of our healthcare system,” Kenney said.

Prior to the announcement, political opponents accused Kenney of placating “criminals,” in reference to the truckers leading the protests, CTV News noted:

“The sight of an elected government being bent to the will of criminals should be of grave concern to everyone regardless of their political beliefs,” NDP Leaders Rachel Notley said Monday.

While Kenney no longer supports the government mandating that businesses require proof of COVID-19 vaccine for customers, the Alberta premiere did say that he would support a businesses’ right to choose if they wanted to have a vaccine passport of their own. Kenney cited the “free market” as part of his reasoning, but also added that he hoped Canada could move away from “all” pandemic measures.

There are so many things in these two sentences that just confuse the living hell out of me that I'm not sure where to begin. Concern with public relations? Hostility to working class demonstrators who've succeeded in tying up the national capitol? Not doing something downright atavistic to the idiot who drove into those people long before now?

What in the...exactly when did we cross the yawning gulf between the gleefully nihilist punks of the 70's and 80's and the snowflake punks in Winnipeg? Is this like Green Day's fault or something?

Canadian trucker has a touching encounter with a little girl in a store. Straight to the Crux of the reason for the protest.

Spare yourselves the drama queen monologue before and after, and jump to the trucker's 2 minute video at the 4:45 mark.
