The 8 yo stealing a goldfish wouldn’t get shot as long as he didn’t try to drive away in a car. 8 yo’s in a car are a threat to life and limb. Everybody knows that. ADW at least. Deadly force imperative.

I'd nullify that verdict all day long. The other jurors would be glaring at me, trying to shame me or brow beat me into changing my vote but they wouldn't stand a chance.

Its just my personal opinion, but with > 8 billion people on earth, some lives definitely aren't worth more than some property. Its a shame the legal system hasn't caught on to that.

So what these shopkeepers did was bad. Very very bad.

We're gonna need a couple of jurors because when the acquittal is handed down by the jury on the criminal case, the civil case is coming after the shooter, the store, the maker of the beer, gun, tile, door, counter, lights, gas vendor and anything withing a 20 mile proximity to the shooting.

We need to change that law on protecting property... Tx has that part correct...

IN THE OP:

Defoe has a criminal record that includes charges of robbery, domestic battery and drug possession.

Perp's a big guy and thought he'd just stroll into the store, grab beer and walk out untouched. Probably done that before.

Didn't work out that way this time, I guess.
