If you’ve ever wanted a Leatherman Tread, now is the time to buy one.
It looks like they are discontinuing them and they have them on their website for $60, which is 60% off. All sales are final.

https://www.leatherman.com/tread-425.html

I wanted one when they came out since I fly a lot and they passed TSA requirements but I wasn’t willing to try it for the $150 they were asking. At $60 though I am giving it a shot.

Most of the variations are out of stock but the original stainless is still available.

Unique tool and a great deal but I'm not sure I'd ever wear it.

That looks like a horrible accident waiting to happen in my work environment.

I also can't believe that thing retailed for $150. The concept has merit, but yeah, practically I'd never wear it.

Yeah it’s definitely not for everyone. Honestly I doubt I’ll ever wear it but like I said the idea that I can wear it on a plane is slightly appealing for the few trips I take when I don’t check a bag.

Likely it’s going to end up in my knife box with all the other random shit I but when I’m bored though.

I can see it as a novelty but nothing I would really use or wear. Pretty pricey for a novelty.

I've had the multi-tool for years now. Click on that. The Super tool I think. I have them till I can't find them. Handy. Kinda the swiss army knife based on needle nose plyers.

More than a decade ago I bought a few Wave model Leatherman's to put in my vehicles just so I would always have something if I needed a tool.

They usually sit in the center console where you might toss some loose change.

After looking at what they cost now I'm going to hide them somewhere so i don't get a break-in. They've really gone up in price in the last few years.

My wife has wanted one for years but balked at the price. I showed it to her and she said "order one". So I did.

She mumbled something about punk, leggings, mini skirt. I may benefit from this Wink

I'll give them $30 shipped just to have another do-dad for my junk drawer.

I dunno Brad ...she might get some use out of that Leatherman Tread, but I've seen you in some posted photos, and I gotta say it's gonna take more than leggings and a mini skirt to be of any benefit to you. Wink Big Grin

I think it is kind of a cool idea but it looks heavy, too pricey and I don't think I would wear it. Sorry, but it is interesting.

Back when I was a robot tech I had a super tool and a wave. Used the hell out them. It was amazing the amount of times they saved me.

Concept is interesting, but the tools are too short for 95% of the stuff I'd need them to do. Even my regular leatherman Wave screwdriver doesn't get much use because it doesn't have enough reach. I used to carry a multi-tool daily, but eventually stopped because a simple folding knife is lighter and handier, and dedicated pliers, screwdrivers, and saws just work so much better than the multi-tool variants...if you have them as an option, it's worth the short trip to the toolbox to go get them. My Wave now lives in my hiking pack because the backwoods is one place where its portability and broad capabilities are really appreciated.

Gee, tough crowd Wink Big Grin

I thought I remembered there being more interest in this when it came out, it appears I’m mistaken.

It’s definitely not a tool for everyone, but virtually nothing is for everyone. As I’ve said a couple times as a guy who travels though this has potential. A more traditional Leatherman tool will be a thousand times better than this, and a good toolbox worth be a thousand times better than that. If you have access to a good set of tools 100% of the time then for sure this is a waste. Some of us don’t.

Hey, I might have helped a member get an exciting night with his wife though. If that’s the best I accomplished today then I’d say it was worth it. Big Grin

I figured "what the hell!" and ordered one.
