State Farm vote here. Main reason is it has cost me no more and the company is zero drama.

5 deer strikes, a new roof on the house all easy resolution.

We’ve been with State Farm for maybe 40 years or more; the current agent since he started his career. As you may know, SF has stopped issuing new homeowners policies in CA—but they got a rate increase so that may change.

Our experience has uniformly been of very fair claims adjustment, and benefits of loyalty. Our agent got us homeowners insurance on our current residence in San Diego despite a SF rule that they would not cover newer policies in the area due to fire hazard.

Years ago my wife hit a pedestrian on a stormy night;,he was wearing a tuxedo and face was covered by an umbrella. Went to jury trial, both parties were honest in their testimony; SF attorney was very good. We were found partially at fault but insurance rate did not go up.

Such history of good service means way more to me than saving money on premiums.

we had all of our insurance thru farmers and they canceled us about a month ago because they took a satellite photo of our roof and noticed I had replaced the ridge, our roof is made of wood shakes. now we are trying to get a new policy with another company. insurance is nothing more then a mafia run organization. we have never even had a claim.

My car insurance with Progressive went up $13 bucks a month. Not enough to justify changing my provider.

Also State Farm most of my life at this point. Switched from AAA decades ago and never a reason to switch.

Damn. But in the long run you'll probably be happy it forced you to switch.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

State Farm here for about 30 yrs. It is a little higher but one thing is you will get paid without much hassle as opposed to other insurers in Tejas.
