I'm so happy to represent that 2% you speak of. And something of note, check out how Orange County voted in the presidential election. Yep, lots of mentally ill, retarded Biden fans in Orange County.

Still, you can go pretty much wherever you like in Orange County (short of the theme parks) maskless, and most business owners will be smart enough to simply leave you alone.

So Fly to a state they don't have the restrictions with on a round trip, then take a round trip, separate ticket from there to FL. If it's possible.

Or just don't go back, find a place, settle here, pull your money and family out of MA.

Hmm, I'd love to get the hell out of this commie state. But we are both divorced with kids here, she is an established realtor here. I'm 51 and would probably have trouble finding a job with my pay and the 7 weeks of vacation I get. So it will have to wait.

Edit to add: Oh our mandate is only enforced if someone reports you. Basically you come home and you are supposed to go online and fill out a form and provide test results or self quarantine. It's asinine. Since this is all hypothical and we aren't really going it won't matter. Wink

Interesting but looks a little too hippy for my taste. When they put all the solar panels in the video and talk "sustainable" I assume it's full of liberals.

Here I sit, still pretty weak and lethargic with the remnants of the Covid and you bring up Ft. Myers Beach.

I grew up there, my grandparents had a house on the North end, right on
Estero and it was just one house from the Gulf. We had access rights to the private beach and Gulf and I loved it. My Mom had a house, also on the North end, right on the canal on Matanzas Circle.

I kept my boat on the canal across from my Grandparent's house that leads to the Bay as they got along great with the folks who owned the dock there and my Grandfather, who had some health problems, could walk across to the boat and we'd go out.

Burgers and shakes at the Breezy Freeze and dancing at the Tip Top, shrimp from the Shrimp Box-man I wish those places were still there, but...time has marched on and it's not the same.

So, my point is, try Sanibel and Captiva, a bit more money than you might spend on the mainland, but you'll love it. It's about as close to the Florida of fifty or sixty years ago as you're gonna find now, food is good, accomodations are good and, I think, you'll really have the chance to relax. Even if you don't choose to stay on Sanibel or Captiva, drive over and look-fantastic and beautiful.

You got me thinking about a very looooong week down there, but I prolly will have to wait till spring.

On McGregor, be sure to see the Edison Estate, Thomas Edison's place. Two hours of pure enjoyment and cheap to see.

Bob

Not just your garden variety liberals, but the true believers.

It's former ranch land in the middle of nowhere. They try to promote it as a live there/work there utopia, but it doesn't work. They people that work there can't afford to live there. The people that live there have to work elsewhere to afford to live there. The beaches are 30 miles away, there nearest real grocery store is 11 miles away. It's on a 2 lane road and all the traffic back and forth makes the commute tons of fun.

Back to Fort Myers Beach. Stay away from the Lani Kai. Nothing good happens there.

Straightshooter, thanks. We will definitely check out those areas.

Trapper, Lani Kai sounds like just my kind of place for fun! Big Grin

Visit Shell Point retirement community. Just on the land side of the Sanibel bridge. Awesome place.
