Fenix makes a great product. I've been trying to destroy a LD09 for the last five years. My eyesight is not what it used to be but I can still read fine, fine print if it's properly illuminated. I also commute very early in the morning so having a good light is a must. Bottom line; I turn the thing on and off fifty times a day. It took five years of this kind of use for me to wear out the switch - the remainder of the flashlight still works fine. Here's the rub; I recently bought two new LD09s off of Amazon. They differ a little from my original LD09 in that the switch seems to stick sometimes and it seems that you can no longer remove the end cap to replace the switch if it goes bad. I suspect that these two new lights are fakes. I think it would be prudent for anyone who's a fan of Fenix to be careful where you buy them. Just a word to the wise. V.

Maybe not so fabulous after all |
Mostly, I'm just glad I didn't run this guy over. I keep being freaked out because I came pretty close. Edit: I have thought about getting an IFAK to keep in the cars, but TBH, I don't know dick medical stuff. I am taking a class in June that incorporates some medical training, so that should be handy. This message has been edited. Last edited by: PrinceAliFabulousHe,

I believe in "coincidences" including you asking for a flashlight recommendation and getting it in time to use it in the way you did. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
