I have an uncle who lives in TX and he hunts hogs regularly. He says wild hogs make for some of the best breakfast sausage you've ever tasted. With a little luck, next fall, I'll be able to provide a range report.

I've heard they're pretty awful to clean & not worth the effort.
Javelina have a bag limit too, don't recall the number though.
Had nearly a dozen loitering about 40yds out on our last deer hunt.
I'd be up for the E TX / W LA SF hog hunt, though. If someone has the land & hog problem.
Edit: Javelina limit is 2 per season, possession limit of 2.
