What a way to spend the Memorial weekend Sunday! It started out as just some burger and dogs on the grill for the grandkids. I invited a buddy over who, when he saw that I had Guinness Extra Stout, insisted we make some Irish car bombs. He then provided some beef sirloins and the pork bellies. The beef sirloin fillets were the best thing I've ever had between two slices of bread (hamburger roll). The car bombs went down too easily. I also managed to smoke six cigars during the six hours or so he was here. Finished the evening off with some Jefferson bourbon and a CAO Brasilia maduro cigar. There's still tomorrow to try to top this. _____________________________ "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." Yeah really. You gotta be shittin' me. One night in Cape May years ago with a bunch of other shipmates, I slammed 8-10 Irish car bombers trying to beat my Chief Engineer at a chugging contest. He was unbeatable, but I wouldn't give up. Somehow by morning I ended up nearly naked on the front lawn of one of our AB's who lived in Cape May. One of my most drunken nights. But damn, Irish car bombers are good. My Chief Engineer by the way looked about as sober as a judge the next morning. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Sorry, I was in the same boat until I saw RogueJSK clear it up. I've lived my entire life in the South (I'm guessing egregore has, also). Never were many Irish families around Nashville. Yet, I'm well versed on Moonshine... _______________________________________ Flammable, Inflammable, or Nonflammable....... Hell, either it Flams or it doesn't!! (George Carlin)

Always impressive wizards can post a stupid reply like that but apparently have never heard of the internet. Seriously I’ve never had one but can surmise from the context. If I couldn’t I could type three words in a search window. For the love. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

I gotta say, everything about that night sounded like heaven. Good drink, good meat, good smoke, and good friends. Good stuff. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Six cigars? That would do me in. I wouldn't be able to breathe. Sounds like you had fun. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Out of idle curiosity, I googled "offensive drink names", and there are actually dedicated webpages ...

I left it on the grill, covered, over low heat for an hour maybe - couldn't tell you the exact time. Flipped it once about half-way. It was my first time with pork bellies. I got lucky, I guess, as it came out very, very tasty. _____________________________ "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." You do realize that some of us here do not drink alcohol, don't you? I had no idea what it was, either. (Thankfully RogueJSK provided a definition.) I am happy that MRMATT had such a good time. I would probably have enjoyed the food, but not the drinks and cigars. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth
