Had to create a new gmail account for the boys sports.
I add the gmail account to the iPhone Mail app but the iPhone mail app never gets the emails.

I absolutely despise the Gmail App and have no desire to use it.

I have 2 other Gmail accounts loaded to the iPhone Mail app and they receive emails just dandy.
All the setting in the iPhone Gmail accounts match.

Everything has to be so freaking complicated anymore!

Any idea how to get the emails to show up in the iPhone app.

Because the other accounts are for different purposes. With 3 kids playing multiple sports it has reached the point we need to have an email for each kid’s sports.

As for the iPhone mail app it is simple and clean and does not try to interface with everything else. The Gmail App is a pain and cluttered.
Plus when you use the Gmail app it wants to log you into everything using whatever Gmail account happens to be logged into the app.

Have you considered MS Outlook for IOS?

I use this and currently have 3 accounts set up.

You can look at all of your accounts at once or individually.

I have not used the iPhone Mail app in a few years.

Have you tried sending an email, from one of your other accounts, to the one that's not working? See if you get any error messages.

It sounds like it may be a Gmail thing.

I’ll give it a try. That’s what I like most about the iPhone Mail app is the individuality.
I don’t want a cluttered mail box. My opening page is the label for each account and shows the number of unread messages.
I then click on the account I want to view.

I can’t find a way to do this in the Gmail app. Plus like I said I hate Gmail wanting to interface with everything.

I have an account for the following:
All my camera alerts
All my forum communications
A shared email with my wife for kids school and sports but it has become so busy we need to break each kid off for their sports.

Yes, they send just fine they just do not show up in the inbox in the iPhone mail app. It shows up just fine in the Gmail app.
I can send emails from the new account just fine in the iPhone mail app. It just does not receive any.

VPN on the phone can mess with Gmail working, you may also have to login to that account on a PC to complete any setup and 2FA before it will work.

At any point in the setup process for the third account did it ask you to verify the account by replying to an email or msg? I’m guessing not.

Had to verify an email and had to do the Face ID passkey.

Somewhat off-topic, and I apologize for the potential threadjack.

Those with a desire to maintain multiple e-mail inboxes specific to a purpose/activity may be benefited by the use of "plus" addressing. This involves adding a +string to the end of the user part of one's e-mail address. This allows sorting of incoming mails by the "extension" into topic-specific folders. Some (most?) e-mail clients will do this sorting witout requiring any user setup.

There is no need to involve one's provider with setup or other configuration to use this capability.

There is an official Internet standard on this, RFC 5233,and a healthy number of on-line how-tos that will be exposed with a search.
