I have 5 acres of land that I one day plan to build on. I don’t get out there too frequently and it does have a front gate I usually keep locked and there is no drive on access from any other side but front gate. We were about to start building so I had to keep gate unlocked. We had to postpone building and I haven’t been out there for about a year. I just went out this and last weekend and found these two holes dug on my property? There are lots of hog tracks on my property, but the holes don’t seem deep enough. Maybe never got finished or no longer being used? I don’t want people on my land so I need to get gate locked back and I guess fill these holes with a bad back.

Unfortunately it will now be 3-4 years before we build and I don’t want some animal getting stuck in them. There is water in it because we just got heavy rains recently. I need to setup a trail camera on my land. I just don’t know why these are on the far back side of property. If it was a hog trap, the brush back there is way too thick to carry something out any other way so I would think someone would have to drive on from the front. I see more tracks near the front of the property.

They look kind of like perc holes. Did you have anyone coming out at some point to test the land to be built on?

Another possibility is artifact hunters....Texas is known for artifacts and digging for them is pretty typical....some of those arrowheads down there can fetch thousands of dollars

You're probably a bit too far east for someone to be digging for topaz, but you never know.

I just put up a couple Spypoints with cellular notifications on my property and they seem to work well.
I have horrible cell signal on my property and it takes about 4 minutes to receive 2 full high definition pictures.

The dirt piles don't look too recent. At least longer than the last rain or two. A while back a buddy put up a trail cam and promptly had it stolen. So the put up another and then a second one looking at the new one. Well camo'd, too. Sure enough, that 2nd one was ripped off, but they didn't see the 3rd. The crooks were pissed when the sheriff came a-knockin. They're expensive enough that around here it was grand larceny, all on the 3rd camera. Just as good, buy cheapo cameras. But have them looking at one another.

Looks a little too neatly dug to be done by hand. A backhoe, maybe? Got any neighbors who may have seen equipment being hauled in or out?

Yes I did, but unless I totally missed these the hole I saw were bore holes and from the report went down pretty deep. I looked all around after they did the work to make sure they drilled the holes they billed us for and did not see these. I would think I would have, but I could have missed them. Plus they are not on area house was to be built and the bore holes drilled were spread out where foundation would be.

A septic company was hired and recommended a type of system so this may be possible since this is in the area of where the septic would be. Odd they would no fill it in afterwards.

No recent tracks, but it has been a while since I was last out there and we have received heavy rains. I do have new and have asked them to be on the look out.

Starting to think it might be related to the septic company.
