Yeah, we can trust our Commie friends: Article in The Wall Street Journal. ====================================================== Diplomats posted in Cuba and China had symptoms including memory loss. BY BYRON TAU A U.S. scientific panel has concluded that exposure to a type of directed energy was the most likely culprit for a number of medical symptoms, including dizziness and memory loss, experienced by diplomats posted in Cuba and China. In a new assessment published on Saturday by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, scientists identified “directed, pulsed radio frequency (RF) energy” as the most likely explanation for a series of symptoms experienced by diplomats who were posted at U.S. facilities—a broad category of energy that can include microwave radiation. The scientists concluded that the symptoms experienced by a number of U.S. and Canadian diplomats, which included dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, cognitive difficulties and memory loss, were “unlike any disorder in the neurological or general medical literature.” The panel of 19 scientific and medical experts had been tasked by the U.S. State Department to advise the government on the reasons for the symptoms experienced by people posted at diplomatic facilities abroad. The committee said the abrupt onset of symptoms was most consistent with “a directed radio frequency (RF) energy attack” rather than inadvertent or environmental exposure, but also that more research was needed. Governments, including the former Soviet Union and the U.S., have tested using directed energy as a potential weapon or a tool for espionage or crowd control in the past. “Because the committee was not able to assess specific scenarios involving malevolent actors, one strong suggestion is that follow-up studies on this topic be undertaken by subject-matter experts with proper clearance, including those who work outside the U.S. government, with full access to all relevant information,” wrote David Relman, professor of medicine at Stanford University and chairman of the panel, in a preface to the report. The symptoms experienced by U.S. diplomats and intelligence officers posted in Cuba began in late 2016 and caused a rupture in relations between the two countries, which had begun a delicate rapprochement under then-President Barack Obama after decades of Cold War-era tensions. President Trump publicly blamed Cuba for the incident, a charge that Havana denied. U.S. diplomats in China later experienced other symptoms, and similar symptoms were reported by intelligence officials working on Russia-related operations around the world. The scientific panel examined other possibilities, including exposure to chemicals, infectious diseases or that the symptoms were primarily caused by psychological or social factors. However, it concluded that radio frequency energy exposure was the most likely culprit. The paper published Saturday validates earlier findings by a different medical team. Douglas H. Smith, who published a study on the issue in a medical journal, said in 2018 that exposure to microwaves, a type of radio frequency energy, was the most likely culprit. I'd be surprised if the US didn't already have a similar capability for covert directed energy attacks. And if for some reason we don't, you can bet your ass we're working on it now. The US military had already previously developed and employed a more overt directed radio energy system. These are crowd control/area denial systems consisting of vehicles with large emitter dish arrays, which used directed radio waves to heat up the upper layers of skin in order to inflict non-lethal pain compliance on groups of individuals in the targeted area.

This story does not supprise me at all. This type of events have been going on for years all over the globe against us and our allies. And it would not suprise me if we are doing the same type of things to our not recognized friends. ............... drill sgt.

These directed radio wave, or microwave, whatever, attacks have been going on for years. This is nothing new. IIRC I first learned of this at least 5 years ago, probably longer. .

Staring back from the abyss |
Many many moons ago (going on 40 years...sheesh), I worked for several months on a lookout tower that was positioned about 100 yards southeast of a USAF radar installation. At the beginning of the season, we had to go to the AF and have them turn off the radar for several degrees so that the tower and the lookout person didn't get nuked. Generally, this worked well. But, we always hung an (unconnected to electricity) fluorescent light bulb in the tower. I was told that if it started to glow to go down to the AF guys and tell them to check and readjust their radar. It never did for me. Some years before I was up there though, a gal that was working the tower had many of the symptoms listed which prompted them turning it off for those several degrees and the hanging of the bulb. It makes perfect sense, to me at least, that this occurred in Cuba and China. A great invisible weapon. Great gig it was up there. I never got hit by the radar but I did get hit by lightning. That was not great. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I followed this story when it was first reported, but hadn't heard much follow up on it in the years afterwards, so thanks for not only taking the time to post it, but also to paste the actual article for those of us without a WSJ subscription. My father worked around radar, focused RF, and microwave, (and later, fiber optics) and frequently had to climb the transmitting/ receiving antennae early in his career, and I remember him telling me as a kid that they had some concerns about the long term exposure effects on humans, and there were concerns of both cancer and sterility even back then. He used to joke that it was probably good that he had kids early in life and wasn't planning to have any more. I'm not prone to believing in hype or conspiracy theories, but I can't help wondering about the concerns surrounding the implementation of technologies like 5G and Starlink when considering them in the context of these RF attacks.

Yes, this has been suspected/alleged for years, but this is the first “official” confirmation I’ve seen, and I’m a little surprised by it now. Would it have been announced under a Left Wing, “The Commies are our buds” administration? “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz This life is a drill. Same thing happened in Moscow to two US ambassadors. The soviets were beaming HF radio waves at the window glass in the office, and were able to descern the conversations from changes in the reflection of the glass. When the second amassador died from the same extrmely rare brain tumor, the US knew there was a problem and investigated. -c1steve

Mk22 Fire Control Radar on the IOWA would make a fluorescent light bulb glow. I've held one up in the beam (which was ~3-4' over my head in the Director Officer's seat). NRA Life Member - "Fear God and Dreadnaught"

I've experienced these symptoms 24hr a day since having some brain bleed surgery in 07'. I'm not complaining so much, it is what it is but, it can be burdensome. I feel for those who experience these symptoms especially if it's from being bombarded by RF, that only compounds the situation. Regards, Will G.

It’s not necessarily tinfoilhatery. In amateur radio, we’ve learned that we can cause serious injury using power and electromagnetic radio waves irresponsibly. Like a microwave without the protection keeping it inside.
