Nothing else on my computer is slow. But the market place is so slow almost unusable.
Besides that it is pretty lame as far as finding items for sale.
Why do people think it is great. Must be doing it wrong?

Is there a wanted to buy section that is worth a hoot?

Because Facebook is busy looking around your computer and trying to figure out what ads to show you.

I have a Facebook account (without any "friends") for the sole purpose of using the "Marketplace". Browsing for stuff, especially vehicles I don't need is one of my favorite time killers. I definitely notice it ramping up the cpu on my desktop from time to time (this desktop is built by me and stronger/faster than most). It will sometimes cause the tab in the browser to stop responding. It's not very frequent, but it happens. I just hit refresh/F5 and it usually gets back on track.

Facebook is Spyware!

I once logged into my wife's facebook account on my PC to respond to a post on our HOA community/group page by a homeowner (I am the HOA President), as I do NOT and will NOT ever have a facebook account. I logged off and never accessed that account ever again...Just that one time! Afterwards, any time I searched for anything on my PC, my wife would get ads in here facebook 'feed' for whatever things I was searching for.

I refuse to click on any facebook link on ANY device, period. I've notified those that might be inclined to send me facebook links to NOT bother doing so, as that's my hard policy and they'd be wasting their time, no matter what they may be inclined to share.

It's not. I just tried it just now on both my phone and my laptop and it was plenty quick.

I hadn't been on in weeks so initial load was slow to bring up my last search. Subsequent searches were very fast.

Mine is working fine. I'm not a fb fan but, if you like to buy and sell, fb marketplace is by far the most effective platform - in my area it's basically the only game in town. Craigslist used to be my goto but it's as dead as yesterday's papers.
