I think they also sell gift cards to other places so maybe you could go that route and get a card to some place you could use.

Are you saying HD doesn't carry stuff for your Kobutu or whatever you call it?

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

"Cab-ota" Big Grin

And no, other than maybe a backup camera. Might pick one up for starters just to see if I like it. If so, might get another for the Tundra.

Depending on how much that gift card is, that might only get you a few 2x4s and 3 sheets of 4x8 plywood these days. Big Grin

In all seriousness, I think they don't expire or you have a year. If you can't think of anything now, stash it in the safe for when you will need it. As a homeowner, you know something always comes up.

Please post updated pics of your newly finished outbuilding/workshop....I'm sure we can identify something you've missed/overlooked, and 'need' to get in order to properly complete your detached man cave! Wink

Somebody beat me to it but I was going to suggest just hanging on to it for a while . Don't spend it just to spend it . That's when something bad happens ..

you could always just get the 'boring' useful stuff you'll eventually need anyway:

simple green / cleaning supplies
packaging tape
toilet paper

a(nother) spare propane tank?

yard stuff

work gloves (leather / mechanix)

eye / ear pro

they have tons of stuff there not strictly home improvement...

I must be getting old, because that thought has occurred to me as well.

Of the two things I've given more than a passing thought to (Evolution Cold Cut steel chop saw and a backup camera/monitor) neither is in stock at either HD reasonably close to me. That helps quell the impulse buying urge.

I'll just let it marinate for a while. I'm still MUCH more inclined to buy toys than practical supplies tho. Supplies I can get out of my regular budget, this is more in the vein of a gift.

A fast internet connection and a CNC plasma cutter would be fun...

How about some shelving or a nice new shiny tool box for the new man cave?

I've been eyeballing one of their bigger heavy duty husky tool chests for a few years, but I haven't been able to justify the cost (even if my disaster area/garage says otherwise).

Pretty well up to date on tool storage. Do have something of a toolbox fetish tho.

Hmmmm. Maybe something for the hobby room. It's a mess.

Can you use an HD gift card to buy OTHER gift cards there(do they have a display of gift cards for other stores)? Worst case, just a thought.

I'll look into that. I'd go through an Amazon gift card like grass through a goose.
