There's two I often think about. I didn't ask them out because it never occurred to me? That's the part that I'm hung up on. One was a girl named Bonnie who lived down the road. Beautiful girl, inside and out. The nicest sweetest person you would even want to know. And I had no interest in her. Now I look back and think "Why not? What the hell was wrong with you?"

The other was a girl named Jennifer who I'd known probably since 2nd or 3rd grade. A "school friend" through grade school, Jr. High and High school. Again, very pretty and a such a sweetheart. I think I truly cared for her, but as a friend, one of my oldest, longest acquaintances.
One day out of the blue, for whatever reason I thought of her... it was like a flashback scene in a movie, small vignettes of different times. And it hit me... "Oh my God, that girl loved you!" (and not in the "oldest acquaintances" way) I was stupefied. The problem was I was in my late 20's when I made this realization and hadn't seen her in a decade. How had I never noticed all the obvious signs? Again, what the hell was wrong with me that I didn't pick up on it?

That's where my regrets are, and wondering what the hell else I missed?

Tasha Berg, the most devastatingly beautiful girl in my high school, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. With an incredibly sweet personality. I would turn to mush around her.

If I only knew then how to interact with females like I do now... sigh.

She was in line with her friends, turned back to me and gave me a huge smile. Ear to ear. The ladies were conversing about me. I knew who she was. But she’s a damn actress on TV and I was too intimidated. I don’t like in Cali. But I should have just asked. I would have signed a NDA. She was definitely single at the time.

Wow dude, she's a sweet little lady. Wasn't meant to be...

Julie.

She invited me over to help with her math homework. I went, and we worked on math. I was too stupid to see what was really going on.

It’s okay… I couldn’t stand Julie's brother, and I have an absolutely wonderful lady in my life now.

There were a few but I am glad that God did not open those doors, as I can't imagine my life/family being any other way right now.

There were a couple, and I'm glad I didn't. It would have screwed it up with the one that asked me out. We got married right after High School and have been married 38 years. 22 yrs AD Army and a cop for 16 years and still on my first wife. I couldn't have managed that with the ones I wanted to ask out.

For me it was a young lady in high school. We sat next to each other in a couple classes. We were friendly and goofy with each other, to the point of placing thumbtacks on each other's desk chairs. She had braces, but I really thought she was pretty.

They moved out of state during summer break, and I never saw her again.

Until I saw her in Playboy magazine. It was 'Girls of the Pac-10,' I think. A few months later she was a Playmate of the Month.

Oh, I asked her out finally. My neighbor who I had been friendly with for 8 years. (She was a year older). She said “I’d love to, but I having dinner with some Air Force guy that has been pestering me for a date for weeks. Tomorrow night?” I was pretty stoked!

They have been married for 35+ years….

When I was in my teens and early 20’s my ability to approach and interact with women could be called paralytic! I vividly recall the days any girl I found remotely interesting was dating some dirt bag or jock that treated them terribly. I was like WTF?!
Today as I hang out with my wonderful wife of 31 years I rationalize it by thinking if not for that paralysis I might not have ended up with such a great lady. But at the time it really sucked

That’s wild that you said that name. I haven’t heard it in years. I’ve never met or seen a single famous person in person in my entire life until I was in Newport Beach California and I was coming around the corner of this outdoor mall called fashion island and she was coming around the corner the other way. She was wearing an oversized sweatshirt and nice jeans. She looked up at me and gave me a huge smile. Absolutely stunning woman and since you’ve seen her in person you know about her smile and those bright eyes. Much smaller than I would have guessed.

Yes I was with my beautiful wife who even commented on how beautiful she was.

Rhonda Clarity. Played volleyball in High School. Tall and cute. Admired her from a distance for 3 years. At our 20 year reunion, she asked me how come I never asked her out. Damn it.

I met a girl in drivers ed, which was at a private business a few miles from my high school. She was from a different school, so I only saw her there for the after school drivers ed class. Afterwards, we lost touch at the end.

The first day of the next school year, I was sitting in my car along the street before school when a car parked behind me. It just so happened it was her. I had her come sit in my car before walking in.

I was very shy, and so was she. We became buddies, and I could see she wanted to move forward with our relationship after a while. However, I had my sights on another, who was sitting in the home room across the hall from mine.

That other girl turned into my girlfriend through the rest of high school. During that time, I set buddy girl up with a friend. They hit it off, and they are still married to this day.

Carol was my buddy’s name.

I went to a concert bar in Denver to see Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. There was a young woman singing backup with the band whose name you might recognize, Nicolette Larson. She kept staring at me and smiling throughout the show. One of my friends, standing next to me noticed it and said something to me about it. I made no attempt to contact her. I’m not sure how I would have. I’ll never know, but it’s a pleasant memory.

Didn't the J. Geils Band write a song about this?

High school prom two friends knew two girls they wanted to ask, but the girls had a friend, so I took one for the team. I’m going to put gas in the car I’m driving to prom, a replica of a 1936 Auburn 852 Speedster, and I stop at an intersection. The girl I wanted to ask, Liz and her friend stop at the cross street and Liz gives me a huge smile. That was the best part of my high school prom.
