For some reason the video didn't start from the beginning for me. It started during the interview portion. I didn't realize there was live footage of the event. If the guy had a chance, definitely. Sorry for my confusion.
The first time I lived in Houston, I took the license to carry class at my favorite indoor range. I spent most of the 8-hours seated next to an extremely nice 75 year old retired man. He retired from TX DOT and was one of the engineers involved in the design and construction of beltway 8.
At one point in time, Houston builders/architects had a love affair with detached garages. The reason he was taking the class is the neighborhood had changed and he no longer felt safe walking the 15 or 20 feet from his detached garage to his house. That has been 20 years and his story really stuck with me.
