I just reread the posts and motorheadjohn mentioned Lafayette Gun Club. My brother was a member there for several years and is the best place to shoot around here. It is a little bit of a drive but it is worth it. Also, if your family likes to go to the beach, there are lots of good spots and the beaches are kept clean, parking can sometimes be an issue though. If you fish, your choices are unlimited.
