Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
I'd like to think that with all the money we spend on intelligence, satellites, etc., we have a good idea where these originate and who's pulling the strings. Instead of using expensive defensive weapons against their cheap and crude missiles, basically swatting flies, let's send a few of those precision missiles to the point of origin and the home of the guy in charge and his higher ups. An example is what Trump did taking out the Iranian guard guy at the Baghdad airport. That sent the right message. Then rinse and repeat when needed. In response to that, the Iranians had three days of mourning followed by a pledge to take "harsh revenge", followed by nothing. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

So we know the origin, take them out.

I deployed to Yemen three times when our air campaign was at its peak. I liked it more than Iraq, it has some beautiful mountains and many high elevation locations. Also long deserted roads where we could easily target AQ. We know where these are being launched from; intelligence is a small and very solvable piece of that puzzle. We’ve had great imagery and real-time video coverage for years. And the Houthi controlled territory is smaller still within Yemen. The hurdle is political will. We’ve always been afraid of angering or provoking Iran. This is the sole reason we don’t strike them now. The Saudis want us to and the Yemeni government (such as it is now) also want us to strike. But we won’t until they destroy a major ship and possibly not even then. Because we’re led by cowards, idiots and traitors. I cannot fully express what a shockingly baller move it was when Trump ordered the Soleimani strike. Every senior officer and international “expert” warned against it and was waiting to throw him under the bus when it went bad. But he correctly calculated that some people cannot be reasoned with and must be hit, and he hit them in a controlled fashion that deeply shook them without unnecessarily forcing broader conflict. Their feeble TBM response showed them as a paper tiger. Our senior military leadership never questioned why they opposed something that so obviously worked, which is unfortunate because self-examination would be healthy. All this to say, as a nation we can no longer do the obvious things, like blow up enemy aligned tribesmen lunching cruise missiles at innocent ships. We can’t do it because we’re led by people who think wrongly about the world, and “obvious” solutions to those with common sense are not obvious to them. It’s like the Ivy League presidents who smugly showed their ass at the recent congressional hearing. They were and are totally unaware of their own foolishness for refusing to say that calls for genocide equal harassment. They’ve been ensconced too long in a world of rephrasing and obfuscation that they’ve lost the capacity for clear speech. Similarly our senior military leaders (who, incidentally, frequently attend polishing schools from these same poisoned academic institutions) are incapable of managing the correct application of violence. The idea to hit Solemani came from an O-5, not a general. Our military leaders cannot win, and consequently don’t think like winners or offer the military advice that winners would provide.

Nailed it so hard.
Something happens to officers between O-5 and GOFO ranks...there's a severe lack of action, an unwillingness to win and find solutions. For every one 'good guy' general, there's at least four others of questionable drive and motivation. Afghanistan is a shining example of the the officer class who were not about winning- changing the mission from punitive to nation building, giving NATO/ISAF roles but little responsibility, misusing general purpose forces, etc...

Houthi Rebels Hit Norwegian-Flagged Tanker With Anti-Ship Cruise Missile At Key Maritime Chokepoint https://www.zerohedge.com/comm...missile-key-maritime An anti-ship cruise missile fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels struck a Norwegian-flagged tanker in the Red Sea near a key maritime chokepoint known as the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, where nearly 10% of all crude traded at sea passes through. Reuters quoted Houthi military spokesperson Yehia Sarea, who said the tanker - named "Strinda" - was targeted because it was headed to an Israeli terminal, and the crew ignored all warnings. However, Strinda's owner, Norway's Mowinckel Chemical Tankers, said the vessel was bound for the Suez Canal and then on to Italy with a cargo containing vegetable oil and biofuels. A US official told Reuters that the attack occurred about 60 nautical miles north of Bab al-Mandab Strait, connecting the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden around 2100 GMT. After the attack, another official said the tanker could move under its own power. Enough with the Houthis already. Somebody call Barksdale and Minot and tell them to load and start engines! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

We no longer have a functional National Command Authority. And AC is spot on. Zippy the Wunder Putz made it his mission to remove anyone with combat and critical thinking skills from senior leadership positions and replace them with pansies and dilettantes pretending to be actual soldiers. To be fair, at one point they probably were competent soldiers but finishing school and the libtard some agenda has rendered them less than useless.

The USS Carney has been busy, but we need to do more. Time for some offense. My niece is an officer on board, and they have been enjoying the excitement. https://www.stripes.com/branch...drones-12314336.html

If Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd both stop using Suez, even for a short while, Egypt’s gonna get pissed, since the Egyptian.gov makes a MST of Egyptian pounds off the canal fees and Egyptians make good income supporting the transiting ships. Maybe the Egypt.gov will attack the Houthi directly. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

But what is needed is to strike and obliterate the launch sites, not just shoot down what these cretins fire. Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club! USN (RET), COTEP #192
