I'm on an emergency trip down here to help fix a kidney stone machine. It's interesting so far. I never ceases to amaze me in places like this how they can drive in such close quarters without seeming to pay attention and not hit each other every other minute. I'm hoping to leave here with both of my kidneys!

Careful you don't wake up in an ice filled tub without your kidneys.

It's really a nice city. It has more middle-class people than any other South American city I have visited. It's a very nice climate too because of the altitude. You shouldn't have any problems there, but you are right about the driving. It is like that over all of Latin America. Lane stripes, stop signs and traffic lights are merely suggestions rather than rules to obey.

Just don't leave Bogota. There are beautiful parts of Colombia that you don't want to see. Trust me.

So far from what I have seen is that people are very formal here in the section that I am. Security in clinics and office buildings is very tight. Amazingly most vehicles are newer and dent free. Its way different than my Navy days on the coast!

Probably best to remain in Bogota without a trip to the countryside. Enjoy some good coffee while there in the small Mom/Pop cafe’s.

Tommy, sounds like Baku, Azerbaijan drivers, except they drive with one hand on the horn also! Enjoy your trip and post up some photos.

We were in Cartagena in November - 104° and 90% humidity. Couldn't squeeze 2 days out of a shirt. The last time I was this hot, I became s Shellback.

Its cold at this altitude and I'm a sea level kind Florida kind of guy, so it gets me if i stand up to fast. The clinic administrator was profusely thanking me and telling me goodby today and not exactly knowing what to say, I said the first goodby greeting that popped into my head "hasta la vista, baby", I got a curious look then she busted out. They are pretty formal here and I guess thats not too formal? I have not done to much international traveling in the past few years, but I think somehow I got elected by my company, in a week or two, I have to go to Trinidad.

I got my shellback in the IO about 82 or so if I recall correctly by the way Smile
