My most recent IFR rating client took an early am flight today down near Leadville. He had a complete engine failure. Plenty of fuel onboard, so its undetermined as to what caused it. Both occupants received minor scratches etc, no major injuries. I had him in the habit of briefing for things like this prior to takeoff. They were picked up by a nearby helicopter that heard his mayday call on 121.5. I just spent 3 hours with him Saturday in this bird. He passed his IFR check-ride, and the plane had been inspected the week before. Timing is everything in life..    "Someday I hope to be half the man my bird-dog thinks I am." FBLM LGB! | ||
