Caught in a loop |
I've got a Luminox 3152.BO that I've had for a while now, and I never wear it anymore because I don't care for the metal band. I'd like to replace it with a cloth band - my preference would be something that uses Velcro, but I'm not dead-set on it. Is there anything out there that might fit the bill? If I were looking for a cloth strap, this is what I would consider. https://shop.hodinkee.com/collections/straps/nato The “lol” thread

I've got a Luminox BO with a Luminox NATO cloth band that works well for me, although it doesn't have Velcro. I got mine from Dave Truong so I'd suggest contacting him.

Check out the Euro Watch Band Center. Click on "All Synthetic Straps" and there is a subsection there for textile bands. When in doubt, mumble

Op. No personal experience, but this series uses Velcro. ETA: Same company Bald posted, just a different series. HAV-IVA Series bands

Seriously try a NATO strap. I've converted all my straps to NATO and love em. Feels like you have nothing on your wrist, even with the big Aviator cases. They start pretty cheap as a nice side benefit.

I think we have a winner. I made my purchase (Lunar Grey) last night; we'll see how it goes. I just wish they offered a black band. Still, I think it'll turn out great. I'll report back when I receive it. "In order to understand recursion, you must first learn the principle of recursion."

NATO straps are sold by dozens of sellers. Blu Shark makes particularly nice ones, but they are pricey by NATO strap standards. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Be ready to wash/deodorize cloth Luminox bands often. This advice is based on personal experience with Luminox cloth bands on my Luminox watches. ____________________

Here's what I use on my Luminox (B&R Bands). Very comfortable, secure (Velcro), and I think it looks pretty nice. $40.00 and well worth the price: https://www.bandrbands.com/ora...h-band---carbon.aspx "I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."

I just did this very thing yesterday. I usually wait until the watch battery dies, then, before I send the Luminox watch (watch only) to the authorized factory repair center I wash the watch and NATO band...the problem is that batts tend to die @ every 3-3.5 years and by that time the NATO cloth band gets pretty rank, and so this time I waited a year before cleaning the watch and band...and it was still funky and filled with dust and crud in the narrow spaces. I'd clean both more often but the NATO cloth band is a tight fit in the area of the watch lugs and spring pins and the band tends to put stress on the spring pins and, over the years, I've broken several and so I'm always a little hesitant to remove the band more often than I really need to.
