Tomorrow night, when the USMNT plays Jamaica, my 13 year old son will be on the field
For you soccer fans, proud parents, and hell just Americans
Tomorrow night the US men’s national soccer team is playing Jamaica in an international friendly at Audi field in Washington DC
My middle son’s national premier league soccer team was chosen to send 12 players to serve as ball boys and escorts for the game. My son, Karrick, a starting center back for his team, was one of the 12.
I don’t know exactly what all he is doing, but I do know he will be on the field for the National Anthem.
I don’t even know how broadly it’s being televised, but if you are so inclined, kickoff is tomorrow at 7.
One of my greatest disappointments as a father is I won’t be there to see him. As some saw from my thread here, I had emergency open spine surgery on Easter Sunday, and I am still not to the point where my wife (who is a doctor) is comfortable with me going tomorrow. Fortunately my father in law is in the area and will be taking him. He is also a professional level photographer, so I am sure I will have plenty to see.

And, hope the recovery works perfectly. Understand the back surgery and recovery issues - wife has had two. No fun!
