King George VI and Clement Attlee in London, but Winston Churchill took over as PM 2 months later; Harry Truman in Washington.

Truman for me as well. I have an early memory of Gen. Douglas MacArthur being recalled from Korea, and my father being worried that he would attempt some sort of coup d'etat.

Although both my parents were died-in-the-wool FDR Democrats, I had "I Like Ike" pins as did so many of the other oldsters here. I guess he stuck with me, as I have always voted Republican.

I also like Ike. But the first I recall was JFK. And that terrible day in November.

Eisenhower was president when I was born.
Yeah, I'm old.

A couple of weeks before the 1960 presidential election. Still Eisenhower‘s administration.

Never really thought about it but Truman. I do remember snippets of Ike.

This. HST was president, but I wasn't old enough to be aware of such things until Ike was in office.

Two months after JFK. Born in Canada. Nixon was the first I remembered and Reagan was the first President I voted for.

November of 1955. Eisenhower first term.
Like others, Kennedy was the first President that I was aware of.
