Turkey Hill Tin Roof Sundae ice cream, YUM YUM
My latest addiction, Turkey Hill Tin Roof Sundae ice cream. I was in tears when the local grocery store discontinued this but it is back. Has different label so maybe that is why it was not available for a while. Just love this stuff and on sale failry often for $3.50. I better get an extra freezer just in case the way things are going.

Life's little pleasures can really make one's day.

Anyone else like ice cream? Big Grin Big Grin

We used to buy various Turkey Hill stuff when we lived in Pennsylvania. We are now seeing some Turkey Hill stuff here in the Natural (stupid) State.

I'm a big fan of their Graham Slam ice cream.

Never seen that brand down here. Shame, because I dig that flavor too.

We are almost exclusively Turkey Hill ice cream eaters. My son and I participated in the mystery flavor contest over the winter. He entered his guess and I entered mine. I won a third place prize of three months of free ice cream. The flavor was blueberry pancake.

Some of our favorite flavors are, raspberry, chocolate marshmallow, chocolate peanut butter, black cherry, well, most of everything.

If you have the opportunity to buy their ice cream cake, do it. Way better than a Carvel cake.

Never heard of that brand, but the description sounds tasty.

We've got Blue Bell, but our house has migrated to the HEB Creamy Creations when we're in the mood.
Their Swoon 'premium' stuff is good too, but pricey.

Yeah I need to try more flavors. I need to find someting I really like but the wife and daughter are not too fond of Big Grin . Of course they like most anything that has chocolate in it.

I also like the fact that the Turkey Hill ice cream, at least the Tin Roof Sundae flavor, is easy to scoop out even when I just take it out of the freezer. Pretty much any other ice cream brand I have tried I have to let sit for a while to thaw a bit because it is almost hard as a rock just out of the freezer.

Never ever seen Turkey Hill ice cream until 2020 out this way but now at least two major supermarket chains stock it. I like pretty much any ice cream other than some stores cheap label brand stuff, but the Turkey Hill ice cream has become our favorite store bought brand. We also have Oberweis ice cream stores nearby.

My favorite Turkey Hill story:

Not long after we were married, my wife and I took a trip to visit family in PA (My wife was born and raised in ME).
Driving along a road when my wife excitedly says, "Hey! That looks just like the Turkey Hill logo!"

I could barely contain my laughter as I explained that the building we had just passed WAS the Turkey Hill farm building.

My wife doesn't talk much about Turkey Hill anymore.. but she still loves their Sweet Tea!

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

We only buy ice cream without corn syrup. And don't give me any artificial anything. Hard to find but the difference is startling.

Best ice cream I think I ever ate came out of a churn my grandfather had. Only a couple ingredients and all four of us kids would take turns on the crank of the churn. Smile

I don't think Turkey Hill brand is available down here. My favorite is Blue Bell, but it was not available for several years after a germ problem cropped up. It's back now and I can find it in the stores. I get either their Homemade Vanilla or Dutch Chocolate. (I'm a simple guy with simple tastes.)

"Vanilla flavored ice cream swirled with rich fudge and choco peanuts."

Omgosh, that sounds good! Eek

God bless America.

Yup.

I shop at a supermarket that often has twofer sales on Turkey Hill. I like pairing up Tin Roof Sundae with their mint chocolate chip (which is different than most.)

How many of you know that Turkey Hill is a big convenience store chain here in PA? The ice cream was only available from the stores for years IIRC, seeing it in supermarkets is a relatively newer thing.

The stores are OK, definitely better than your typical 7-11 which are not big here but nowhere as nice or big as Sheetz or Wawa. I’m a Wawa man.

I've been in one of the stores.

I haven't tried their Tin Roof but have tried other flavors and found them all to be good. They make very good ice cream for their price point, which is above generic and Blue Bunny but not super premium like Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry's.

I just bought a 1.5qt carton of Turkey Hill on sale for $1.88. That's ridiculously cheap for that quality of ice cream. I know I'll get hate for saying this, but I prefer Turkey Hill to Blue Bell.

Turkey Hill is available at Krogers and Albertsons, which serve the DFW area.

Have never tried that one. Sounds good.
My latest go to, and it sounds similar to yours is, Nestles Edys Drumstick Ice Cream. Blue carton. You know the drum sticks that are sold in 4 or 8 pts? This is even better. Fudge swirls, fudge covered peanuts, parts of the drumstick come, and vanilla ice cream with fudge swirls. Truly tasty.

Huh. I shop at both, usually Albertson's. I'll have to check it out.

May I ask, what is a choco peanut? I don't think I've ever seen that brand here.
In Cincinnati we have Greater's ice cream. Best I've ever had. About five dollars
for a pint. Don't eat it very often, I'm fat enough as it is. Big Grin

I used to enjoy that flavor decades ago under the Kay’s brand which I do not believe is still around.
