It's about time I up my Eye and Ear protection game. I'm still using some old big ear muffs and scratched up glasses.

The glasses don't fit with the muffs so they're always tilted down.

Are there some eye and ear protection that work well together so they're not all wonky?

Was looking at those MSA Sordins but didn't want to drop the money before checking with the braintrust.

Sordins is the consensus. I like Smith optics for eyewear. Supposed to deflect 22 short. I protect things i want to keep.

I wear prescription glasses.

The secret to ear protection that works well with glasses is gel ear pads (or, y'know, earplugs).

Obviously you can find glasses with thin arms that sit close.to your head that will work with any muffs, but my experience over the last 10+ years with Peltor muffs with gel ear pads and then Sordins with gel ear pads is that they are comfortable and get a good seal with every pair of glasses and sunglasses I've had during that time, some with really chunky arms.

Normal foam ear pads don't work NEARLY as well, and worse the harder the foam is.

The Sordins are highly recommended here, I’ve not used them.

I was pretty happy with the Peltor 100 electronic muffs.

I upgraded to SoundGear custom molded electronic hearing protection and they are awesome. Their Instant Fit in the ear electronics are pretty good too and much cheaper.

I use the ESS Crosshair and great and they are pretty good under muffs. They make a pair called the Supressor that is supposed to be even better with muffs.

Optics have mostly all been Oakley. Pair of Razor Blades took a 16 penny nail from a nail gun at point blank range. Never pierced the lens.

I like my Howard Leights slim style with an extra set of foam plugs.

I've always used Oakleys for eye pro. However, my older M-frame lens seems to have started delaminating (?). I'm debating whether to find compatible replacement lenses or look for other, less costly, options. I'm currently leaning towards Wiley X Sabers.

I've never really had a favorite set of ear pro. I have a set of expensive Peltors that had its electronics die just after the 1-year warranty expired. I know Sordins are top-rated, but out of my price range. I'm probably going to go with Howard Leights, as they seem to have good reviews and won't break the bank.

For ballistic eyeglasses, look for MIL-PRF-31013 which protects against high speed objects. Ansi Z87.1 is for slower moving objects found in the work place.

I'd never heard of Sordins, so I looked them up. Holy Crap! Do those come with hookers and blow? They must be very good, or they would never get away with that kind of asking price.

Delamination is common on iridium lenses. Right at the spot where it meets the frame, after about 10 years of sweat/head oil.

Sordin Pro-X for ear pro.

I still have a pair of Oakley A-frames w/clear lens I use for the range. Eye pro I don't get too particular with so, it ranges between Oakley's, Kaenon's, Wiley-X's and ESS.

MSA Sordin Supreme Pro. Like them so much that when the movers snagged my first pair that I bought them again.

Wiley X prescription glasses. Pro Tip: If you're like me and have bi-focals do NOT get bi-focals for your shooting glasses. Stationary shooting was OK, but shooting on the move or shooting a moving target (e.g. sporting clays) was miserable as stuff was going between distance and close up prescription. I spent the money and had single vision distance lenses installed.

Sordins and Oakleys here.

Spendy? Yup, but worth every penny.

I’m a prescription or WileyXs type of guy and a pair of Peltor 500s. I feel like they’re bigger than they need to be but the Bluetooth feature is cool. I pipe in some background music at a low volume hen I shoot.

I've used a bunch of different setups over the years. Peltors are nice, but currently I'm using MSA Sordin Supreme Pro's and prescription Wiley X, tinted, with progressive bifocal lenses.

The MSA's are very comfortable, seal well around glasses frames, amplify ambient sound above normal when turned up and dampen loud sounds like gunfire well. They are also water resistant.

I asked for a similar set of Peltors for an Xmas present several years back. My wife declined, citing cost. Since then, a number of people I know have had family member die, and they mentioned something about an inheritance. I decided I wouldn't take it with me either, and bought the MSA's. I doubt my kids will eventually notice the difference.
