The Trump Presidency : Year V
That was a great ceremony. I'm still smiling ear to ear. The rabbi's speech was amazing but I was actually lifted up by that young pastors speech, and I'm very Jewish. And Carrie's voice, oy. I could go on and on.

By the way, did Bernie EVER stand up?

A question of protocol:

It appear Joe is flying somewhere on Air Force One. What happens if The Donald needs to get the fuck out of Dodge NOW? I'm aware that any aircraft carrying the President is designated Air Force One, but none of them have the capabilities of the real Air Force One.

Just curious.

I really thought that his speech contained many appropriate shots at the previous administration, but also circled back as many times with comments seeking to unify and make America great for all of us.

The media of course (NBC) chose to single out his shots and ignore his unification message. Shocked I know Roll Eyes Eek

For me, part of the facination was watching the ex-presidents, spouses, Harris, etc. during Trump's speech, because ALL of them had a hand in the current issues of the country. Of course there were looks of seething anger and disbelief on Harris and at times Biden, but the Bushes Roll Eyes- man, they should have been on their feet for much of Trump's speech, but they are not Republicans anymore. At one point during I think was the DEI part, Bush looked astounded and leaned over to Obama in animated conversation. And Laura seemed to have a pissed off face much of the time.

At one point, The Zombie scratched his eye with his middle finger. It was the perfect way for him to go out. Filled with anger, spite, and cowardice. I could have had a bit of respect for him if he had outright given Trump the finger.

Carrie Underwood's performance was magnificent, much more powerful than if it had gone as planned.

Everyone was squirming. What an embarrassment!

Then she picked up the microphone, invited everyone to join her, and sang a cappella! Beautifully!

It was not exactly a "Fight! Fight! Fight!" moment. But it was close. One of many moments when I had to wipe my eyes.
