sjtillThe Trump Presidency : Year V
From Rich Lowry on NY Post:
Trump's "President Badass" cred makes foes think twice quote:
Another way to look at Trump’s strike is as the bookend of Desert One in 1980, Jimmy Carter’s misbegotten hostage-rescue operation.
The failure of that attempt represented a humiliation that was another blow to our national self-confidence and was a symbol of the reduced state of the post-Vietnam US military.
It also spoke to the staying power of the Iranian regime at its inception.
This is the opposite. The strike showcased the remarkable reach and proficiency of the US military, and a president willing to wield it as necessary.
The operation may eventually — although this is less certain — be seen as a prelude to the end of a decrepit regime.
Again, who knows how this all plays out, and it may be that there are unanticipated downsides and mission creep. Trump posted the other day about regime change.
The Iranians might believe that’s merely bluster — but they need to take it more seriously than only a couple of days ago.
Such is the effect of Trump’s badass move, and we should hope it is being felt not just in Tehran but in every capital of a country that wishes us harm.

oddball1. Trump facilitates a huge step towards a peace accord between two adversarial nations.
2. SCOTUS ruling giving Trump more breathing room on deportations.
3. Dow Jones up 375
4. Oil prices plunge.
And it is only Monday.

soomaSo in about 6 months into this Presidency, Trump's international policy has accomplished:
1) Peace between India and Pakistan
2) Peace between Rwanda and DRC
3) Peace between Iran and Israel
It should forever be called the Trump Peace Prize

SchmelbyWhy doesn't the USA stay out of it and let Israel keep pounding them? There will never be peace unless a change in government.
The media goes nuts over Israeli casualties. do they really expect a war with no casualties?
And I've been saying for 40 years, get us out of the U.N.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday called on Congress to remain in session until it passes the budget reconciliation package.
"Now that we have made PEACE abroad, we must finish the job here at home by passing 'THE GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,' and getting the Bill to my desk, ASAP," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post aboard Air Force One on the way to the NATO summit in Europe.
"It will be a Historic Present for THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as we begin the Celebration of our Country's 250th Birthday."
Trump imposed a July 4 deadline as the Senate remains in gridlock on the House-passed version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which he considers his signature agenda on tax cuts, spending curbs, and investments into border security and defense.
"We are finally entering our Golden Age, which will bring unprecedented Safety, Security, and Prosperity for ALL of our Citizens," his post read.
Congress generally does not pass bills unless it is up against a deadline, and Trump is dangling the carrot of the Fourth of July vacation to get the job done after weeks of talk and little action.
"To my friends in the Senate, lock yourself in a room if you must, don't go home, and GET THE DEAL DONE THIS WEEK," Trump said. "Work with the House so they can pick it up, and pass it, IMMEDIATELY. NO ONE GOES ON VACATION UNTIL IT'S DONE.
"Everyone, most importantly the American People, will be much better off thanks to our work together. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

chellim1Italian defense minister says NATO ‘as it is’ has no reason to exist
Guido Crosetto made his comments ahead of this week’s alliance summit in The Hague.
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said Friday that NATO “as it is, no longer has a reason to exist,” and that the EU does not count on the global stage.
Crosetto made the remarks on the sidelines of a conference in Padua, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
“Before, U.S. and Europe used to be the center of the world — now, there is everything else with which a relationship must be built,” he said, adding: “We often talk as if we were still living 30 years ago, but everything has changed.”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

NATO Nervously Awaits Godzilla Trump’s Arrival, Pre-Stage Agreement for Big Spending Increase quote:
The NATO summit begins officially tonight in the Hague, Netherlands. However, most of the NATO members arrived early so their collective assembly could strategize a defense against the arrival of Godzilla Trump.
Unfortunately, Godzilla Trump began his journey to the EU today by using a very emphatic F-bomb directed at Iran and Israel. Netanyahu promptly apologized, reversed his antagonistic enterprise and ducked for cover. A grouchy Godzilla is not what the EU leaders want to be facing. Grimaces abound.
To appease the painfully, brutally and uncomfortably honest President Trump the EU have agreed among themselves to increase their defense spending quickly, to the very Trumpian 5% of GDP with 3.5% spent on direct military arms.

The Euro-NATO weenies will still find some way to slow-play it. As the Italian Defense Minister said, NATO “as it is, no longer has a reason to exist”. Time to exit out of NATO, as it has now outlived its usefulness and original purpose, and it now “goes aboard in search of monsters to destroy”.
Eighty years of protecting Europe from itself is enough.

Pipe SmokerAnother win. The balky Fed might have to change its tune.
“US stocks climbed sharply Tuesday — with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq narrowly missing hitting record highs.
The rally came as investors grew optimistic that the conflict between Israel and Iran won’t disrupt global crude supplies.
Analysts say the record could be broken as soon as Wednesday, barring any new escalation in the region.
Falling oil prices are a win for Wall Street. They mean lower energy costs for businesses and cheaper gas for consumers — boosting profit margins and leaving households with more money to spend. … “
