Trump Admin Reaches Agreements With 5 Law Firms
<snip>
Meanwhile, Jenner & Block, Perkins Coie, and WilmerHale have taken legal action against the administration, seeking to reverse the executive orders against them.
<snip>

Perkins Coie – They subvert the law to the Democrats benefit.

I didn’t know of the executive orders against them, but I hope those orders stand.

A bit more information about this:
“…
Trump to date has signed executive orders targeting five firms, including orders that restricted their lawyers' access to government officials and threatened to cancel federal contracts held by their clients. He has also directed officials to probe more firms over their internal diversity policies and their involvement in lawsuits against the federal government. …”

It appears that he snubbed RFK'S wife with not shaking her hand. I think it was more of too many hands to shake as he is wildly popular. Also, he was looking to his left at that moment.

Military-Controlled Land Marks New Line in Trump’s Border Crackdown [WATCH]

The Trump administration is moving forward with a new border enforcement initiative that will designate federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border as military-controlled areas in an effort to strengthen deterrence and legal consequences for unlawful entry into the United States.

Ron Vitiello, Senior Adviser to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), announced the move during an interview on Friday’s broadcast of Greg Kelly Reports on Newsmax TV.

Vitiello stated that by transferring oversight of key border lands to the Department of Defense, individuals crossing illegally into the United States will not only violate immigration law, but will also face prosecution for trespassing on military installations.

“We’re going to mark that land out so when people cross the border in that area, they’ll not only be breaking federal law by coming into the country illegally, but they’ll also be trespassing on a military installation,” Vitiello said.

“That brings more deterrence to the party, if you will, that the Justice Department will file charges referred by CBP, by the Border Patrol, for holding these people to account for entering the country illegally and trespassing on a military base.”

According to Vitiello, the new enforcement mechanism will begin in Texas, with potential expansion to other states along the southern border.

The plan utilizes existing federal land and applies new jurisdictional authority through the Department of Defense, allowing for trespassing charges to be filed in addition to standard immigration violations.

Yeah, some of the media are trying to get some mileage out of this fake non story. He actually went back to greet and talk to Cheryl Hines later on (Kash Patel is standing next to them, Musk in front.)

“The Trump administration is moving forward with a new border enforcement initiative that will designate federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border as military-controlled areas in an effort to strengthen deterrence and legal consequences for unlawful entry into the United States.”

This brings up a question that I’ve wondered about. Is all the land actually along the border owned/controlled by the USGov, or is some of it on privately-owned land with a FedGov right-of-way access?

If a strip along the border, say 100-yards wide, is actually FedGov property, then why hasn’t this already been declared as such.

I don’t know the answer, so maybe some of us who live in those areas can enlighten us.

There are numerous private lands directly on the border. Those folks screamed the last four years.

President Trump Exempts Most Chinese Consumer Electronics, Tech Products and Components from Reciprocal Tariffs

The baseline tariffs remain, specifically as they pertain to China. However, in a move to diminish public backlash President Trump has now exempted the majority of consumer electronics from the 125% reciprocal tariff levy.

The types of electronic and computer systems exempted, as announced by U.S Customs & Border Protection, Cargo Systems Messaging Service [DATA HERE], is extensive. The machines used to make semiconductors will also be exempt.

All of the following products are now exempt from the larger global tariffs, including the tariffs in place against China:

•Computers (laptops, desktops, servers) •Workstations •Computer systems •Keyboards •Mice •Hard drives •Memory modules (RAM) •Power supplies •Computer motherboards •Graphic cards •Semiconductor manufacturing equipment: •Photolithography machines •Etching and doping machines •Wafer handling robots •Cleanroom systems used in chip fabrication Used by companies like TSMC, Intel, and Samsung in chip production. •Smartphones •Mobile phones with data transmission capabilities •Devices like iPhones, Android phones, and similar mobile communication devices •Wireless routers •Network switches •Modems (cable, DSL, etc.) •VoIP equipment •Communication hubs •Internet gateway devices •USB flash drives •SSDs (solid-state drives) •Memory cards (like SD, microSD) •Other flash storage devices used in everything from laptops to cameras and game consoles. •Individual solar cells, unassembled •Photovoltaic cells assembled into modules or panels, with or without bypass diodes •Custom or specialty solar panels •Microprocessors (CPUs, SoCs) •Memory chips (RAM, Flash, etc.) •Logic ICs, analog ICs, mixed-signal ICs •Specialized application chips (ASICs, GPUs, AI chips) •Widely used in all electronics: smartphones, laptops, vehicles, appliances, industrial controls •All types of LEDs [SOURCE]

The exemption announced April 11th is retroactive back to April 5th. According to the announcement, companies who imported during the window of tariffs may request a refund due to changes in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).

This is a major appeasement move to both the Communist Party of China (Beijing) and corporate tech titans like Apple.

There is no other honest framework to view this, other than President Trump retreated fearing backlash from corporate donors, Silicon Valley allies and the broader system of adverse politics. The administration will try to spin this, but it is a really bad look.

Elon Musk won the argument, defeating Peter Navarro, Howard Lutnick, Scott Bessent and Stephen Miller.

Our tech industry needs to start ramping up. Intel has been building a big fab for almost 10 years south of Chandler. TSMC has a fab up north.

I like to see a lot of fab lines returned to the US. Also need to reduce the numbers of Chinese working here. The fewer of them here the less they can steal from us. Close the high tech n I resigned to them for 5 years. Let’s see how fast their technology advances when they can’t steal it. That would put us at least one if not two generations of advances ahead of them.

Hopefully more facilities like the Intel plant being built in Ohio will help that.

With the backing off of tariffs, hopefully a more stable approach is taken to give companies a chance to plan and execute more investments in America.

What we need is slave labor.

Companies can't count on tariffs to level the playing field.

Maybe you could enlighten me on a more stable approach? Go ahead, give it your best shot. So far today you seem like a squealing half wit dumb fuck. Seriously you are across as one stupid fuck. But go ahead and fill me in on your international trade and domestic policy expertise. If you have time also let me know about your global military strategy. I'd love to hear it. I'll wait... Please give details.

The Intel Ohio plant was to be partially online in 2026 but several months ago they said the online date is 2030.

A tariff or incentive (such as CHIPS act) that is consistent and doesn't change daily/weekly like we have been seeing.

No reason for the childish personal attack.

My post above:
President Trump Exempts Most Chinese Consumer Electronics, Tech Products and Components from Reciprocal Tariffs
... was somewhat critical on this same point...

However, there's more to consider and it's a delicate balancing act.

On the one hand, you want tariffs to be equal across the board for a country not treating the US fairly.
On the other hand, we simply can't survive without certain things, like semi-conductors, and we do not yet produce enough on our own.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick appears on ABC This Week, to explain and clarify the purpose of the recently announced tariff exceptions.

According to the explanation, there are two “sector specific” tariffs in Semiconductors and Pharmaceuticals that will be announced in the next few months. The recently announced “exemptions” are products that will be included in the sector specific tariffs that are also identified as “non-negotiable” tariffs.

Semiconductor items, automobiles, steel and aluminum as well as pharmaceutical products will fall under categories or ‘sectors’ of products that will be non-negotiable in all trade agreements for the tariff levy applied. Any nation who enters negotiations for new Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) will not be permitted to negotiate trade on semiconductor products, automobiles, steel, aluminum and medications.
