Could the rare minerals mining have become a quagmire of American “boots on the ground” sent to protect personnel in the mining operation? Yes, it could because we would have to protect those people and it would be a long-term commitment. I don't want a permanent US presence in that country. I'm glad there was "no deal".

Apropos J. D. Vance’s involvement, today Trump was like: “I’ll be the good cop, you’ll be the bad cop……………on second thought, f it, we’ll both be the bad cop and drop both barrels on him”.
While I would have preferred a different outcome today, Zelenskyy needs to get the message, things have changed.

Sleazy politicians fleeing their countries with bags of money seems to be a fairly common occurrence. So, I see Zelensky eventually fleeing Ukraine for one reason or another. When he does, I'm waiting to see how much of our money he takes with him.
