According to prosecutors, police arrived and found a set of keys on the floor in front of the apartment’s door. After knocking and announcing themselves but hearing no response, they went in using the keys–and during a sweep, they encountered Teixeira and exchanged gunfire with him.

The doctors hands were tied and their throats were cut, sources told WBZ-TV.

When police arrived, they entered the penthouse apartment and performed a sweep. They encountered Teixeira and a gunfight ensued, wounding Teixeira in his left hand, abdomen, and leg.
After Teixeira was detained, police entered the apartment and found Field and Bolanos dead. They also found a critical piece of evidence -- a black backpack in a "conspicuous" location full of jewelry, according to Pappas.

The second, virtually identical incident, which remained unsolved until Teixeira volunteered the information to law enforcement after his 2016 arrest, took place in August 2014 at the same location. Teixeira pleaded guilty to both crimes and was sentenced to a term of 364 days, with nine months to serve and the balance suspended for a three-year probationary term, according to Wark. No weapon possession or injuries were reported as a part of either incident.

interesting. I understand that a special key card was required to access the building and the floor. It appears he somehow kept it from the last crime. Worse, the cards weren't changed after the last crime and likely for years before.

Agreed - especially because of this part:
Terrified doctor Field had managed to send a text to a friend saying 'a gunman in the house,' and that friend called 911.
But by the time police arrived at 141 Dorchester Ave, the couple were already dead.

MooneyP226Regardless of the "Luxe" description of the condo, this is still NOT a good part of the city.
Southie is trying to be seen as rebuilt and the head scumbag himself, Mayor Walsh, claims it is so much better, yadda yadda, but the condo is minutes from one of the biggest homeless shelters in the city, and the corner where the condo is has subway and bus access to some of the seediest areas as the next couple stops. There is a diverse group of denizens that hang out right there. I'd imagine it to be easy enough to pick a pocket and straight into the building you go.
About 4 blocks toward the ocean is a VERY tough housing project.
A great shame that such a waste of our oxygen was allowed to be out and able to commit such a crime.

spunk639I met both of these wonderful people they were friends with a friend of mine from England, also a doctor who just became a citizen.
One of my cop friends arrested this POS earlier with the bank robbery task force, ICE had a detainer but since it was Chelsea a sanctuary city no action taken on the detainer, or when he was released and returned to harbor in Chelsea, sickening.
But last night all the beautiful people, Kerry, Warren a slew of Kennedys and all the Massachusetts political and social leaders gathered about three miles from where these two people were slaughtered to give a courage award to this asshole.

Absolutely 100%.
When our son was in elementary school, we taught him the exact opposite of school policy; in the case of armed criminals on campus, never be confined in a closed room and to also never, ever get into an assailant's car no matter what, even if threatened with a weapon. Run, just run.

stickman428When my wife and I first married she was VERY anti gun. A doctor in med school told her group one day about a violent home invasion where a handgun saved his life. That meeting had a profound impact on my wife. Unfortubately there are a ton of people who don't quite understand the absolute importance of gun ownership and self defense.

GustoferThis one hits a little close to home given that I, too, do pain management. One can't help but think it may have been drug related.
What a waste and I can't imagine the horror. This is precisely why I keep a loaded weapon in every room in my house.

I'm curious. If you have lawful permanent residency with a green card - this guy is a a non-citizen who moved to the US in his 20s and who is now 30-years-old - and you
rob two banks, is there a point where the guy would be deported back to his home country?
From the
Boston Globe, with my emphasis.
quote:
Teixeira had just been released from a house of correction in April, according to his ex-girlfriend and prosecutors. He had pleaded guilty last year to two counts of larceny for twice passing notes demanding money at the same bank, once in 2014 and once in 2016, according to Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. He was sentenced to 364 days in a house of correction with nine months to serve and the balance suspended. ...
Teixeira told her he was born in Guinea-Bissau and raised in Cape Verde by an aunt, with whom he moved to the Boston area when he was in his 20s, she said. After a falling out with the aunt, he lived in shelters, he had told [his ex-girlfriend].
Note the 364 days he spent in prison.
Then check this out, and scroll to Section 2(A) - Criminal Offenses. Again, my emphasis.
quote:
(2) Criminal offenses.-
(A) General crimes.-
(i) Crimes of moral turpitude.-Any alien who-
(I) is convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude committed within five years (or 10 years in the case of an alien provided lawful permanent resident status under section 245(j) ) after the date of admission, and
(II) is convicted of a crime for which a sentence of one year or longer may be imposed.
is deportable
(ii) Multiple criminal convictions. Any alien who at any time after admission is convicted of two or more crimes involving moral turpitude, not arising out of a single scheme of criminal misconduct, regardless of whether confined therefor and regardless of whether the convictions were in a single trial, is deportable.

nhtagmemberyou have to understand Massachusetts and other 'sanctuary' locations
citizens are expendable until we make the politicians expendable
he was sentenced to 364 days for a reason - 365 would have obviously been the trigger point for deportation
the judge in the original trial should be charged as an accessory to the murders this guy just committed as the judge went out of his way to enable it

I wonder what the story would be today if the victims were two judges or two politicians?
