Many of those fees are instituted by the cities also. New Orleans gets about $25mil a year from them.

Trump rakes in about $74K per day on resort fees. Only 3 of his US hotels have it, though.

Trump hotels that charge resort fees.

I believe car rental "airport fees" are instituted by the airports themselves, not the rental companies.
