No place to go and

For Christmas, my wife gave me a kit to discover my dogs ancestry, the results came back today. She is 50% American Eskimo Dog, 28% Husky, and 22% Pomeranian. I hate AED, she is a GERMAN SPITZ. AKC got involved after WWl and changed the breed. Her name is Willow.

We found her on the internet at the local shelter one evening and skipped supper to go get her. She was wild and wanting to play, wife was apprehensive but I said this dog is coming home. She is very much my dog, if I am sitting, she is in my lap.

As for the Pomeranian, I think someone put him up to it.

Just another day in paradise.

Interesting, I'd be curious what my dog Sophie is? When I asked the vet what he thought he said "she's a West Virginia brown dog".

She looks like she's got some energy, so I can definitely believe the lineage! As to physiological requirements to make that Pom/Husky thing happen...that's probably best left a mystery Eek!

We’ve done a DNA test on one of our dogs and it’s good to know or confirm your guess.
Ours was easy to see, part ACD and Beagle.
What we didn’t know was she had pure breed parents on both sides.
I’ve seen others that are much harder to ID due to a much more varied lineage.

I like the way her crossed legs form to make a heart.

We had done the doggie DNA test on 2 of our doggies.
Katie on the left came in as a chihuahua and miniature poodle mix.
Molly in the middle came in as a chihuahua, miniature dachshund, and pit bull mix.
Charlie on the right is supposed to be a chihuahua and dachshund mix. (He does look the part.)

Willow was found on the street and taken to the county shelter. They ran her chip and called the owners who said they would come down to get her. They never came. Speculating, I think they saw a pretty white dog and bought her with no research on the breed and got more dog than they could handle. A Spitz has a lot of energy and need for space. I have 4 acres fenced for her to run and explore so she comes in tired and she is constantly after me to play ball with her.

Love this dog, wife was looking for a Spitz, I had lost my previous Spitz to cancer, and found her at the shelter.

When I opened up the thread and saw the first picture, I thought there must be Samoyed in the dog’s lineage.

Nope. AED/Husky and one overly ambitious Pomeranian.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Years ago we got puppy from a shelter and was told it was Golden Retriever, Chow, and German Shepard. She even had the "smart bump" GRs have. The pup had been spayed but still had stitches to be removed so at proper time we took to our Vet. He agreed with the mix but thought maybe maybe there might also be some Husky. A second vet agreed and so did a couple of long time trainers & groomers.
A few years later we had a DNA test done. The told us the dog was Miniature Pincer, Shiatsu (sp?) & Australian Shepard.
We sent pics of the dog to the DNA testing company and they did a second test with basic the same results.
Nobody agrees with their results. Everybody thinks she looks & acts like a Golden.

I have absolutely no trust in the so-called science of DNA testing.
If I ever have to be on a jury in a criminal trial I would disregard ANY DNA evidence presented.

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

Years ago our neighbor got two new dogs. I said what kind of dogs are those, Marv? Those are black dogs. All righty then!
