Yes - LVP = Luxury Vinyl Plank. It's noticeably warmer when you stand on it. Never thought of head injuries or breaking plates. We were building on a concrete slab, and we heard many reasons why they would not do it. Nothing consistent. One reply was that if the floor was not perfect, LVP could crack. I figured ceramic tile would be the same, but I'm unfamiliar with it. I have two other bedrooms and our walk-in closet and I plan on doing the LVP in there at some point. Correct. Nothing wrong with LVP or LVT which are the same (one is in plank form the other tile) but like any flooring buy a good quality one and have it put down correctly. I installed it in my shop/motorcycle room 6 years ago and it still looks great in spite of abuse such as chemical spills like oil and brake fluid, heavy loads such as motorcycles on side and center stands, rolling tool chests, rolling mechanic stool, etc. Yes it's waterproof and not quite as hard or cold as tile. And NO grout! No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Yes, luxury vinyl plank. Thanks! Good to hear. I may be overly concerned as it was expensive and a pain in the ass dealing with household goods etc. I’m definitely decluttering a bunch now!!!! Our other laminate held up pretty good. I never noticed scratches really and only a few dings from a dropped screwdriver or a Akrobin full of ammo… Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. We tore up LVP that I installed in our house (kitchen and dining room) and replaced it with hardwood flooring. The rest of the main floor of our house is hardwood. We had all floors refinished to match the new hardwood. There is no comparison (in price and looks, both high) between the two, hardwood rocks but you do pay for it. The house was built in 1955 and the old floors now look like the new. I found that pretty cool.

We've had LVP for about 5 years now. It looks great still, and with our old dogs it was perfect. Accidents in the house didn't ruin anything and it was easy to clean up. They're gone now, but I don't have any intention of changing it. Our kitchen remodel is coming, and we're looking at the same LVP for that job. Or maybe wood grain ceramic tile. I've not decided yet. Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
