Granted I've only seen one view of her roo top, but even with that, I'm wondering where she sniped him from.

Not sure how you can claim self defense if you are on a rooftop with a rifle, but cops say she's in the clear. I'm guessing he had the gun drawn and that's why it was on the ground, so that's the self defense angle? Nuts that you can protect yourself on the left coast. Good for her, bet people respect the signs from now on.
Wasn't there a case a year or two back where a guy sat in his garage, armed, waiting for a burglar to show up and then shot him? IIRC, the homeowner wound up being charged with murder or something?
How is sitting on your roof with a rifle any different?

The cop/detective actually said, "You're well withing the right, when you shoot somebody, .... if you believe your safety is in danger". Scumbags came in with a gun. So, yeah sure, any reasonable person would believe their safety was in danger, whether they were on the rooftop or in the basement.

Every case is different. Not just the case itself, but it also depends on where you live. If you live in NY, it's a guarantee that the commies will go after you. But, if you live in TX, you probably will receive a medal. It's hyperbole, of course, but you get the point.

'Sniped' really? I will to bet the 'shot' was less than 20-yds at most....sniped.
Being Seattle, I'm sure there's some council 'person' looking to write-up some legislature that 'firearm in self-defense' cannot be allowed unless it's within the confines of the residence.
What the hell is up with police spokesman...no uniform?

I think a case could easily be made that someone intentionally entering the property with a weapon while passing passing multiple signs that the owner is armed and prepared to use force to repel them is grounds for self defense. Clearly, their intent was to cause harm in the commission of a crime.
It doesn’t hurt that the police have gone on camera saying she is in the right.

Not familiar with Seattle laws but in South Louisiana if someone is attempting entry with a weapon you are not required to retreat as we are a Castle Doctrine state. Try it here and a high probability you will get shot.

If I remember right, they got the guy you're talking about, for setting a trap. He left the garage door open on purpose, and sat in the dark waiting for someone to come in.

No need, they’re drowning in a tsunami of shit and needles. The problem is, it’s heading eastward and there’s an army of human raccoons hanging ten cresting the wave.

I seem to recall the law said the shooter baited the shootee. Found him guilty. To me, baited or not, the bad guy was a thief & was out to steal & rob.
