Wilt was a freak of nature. Allegedly he could run 100m in less than 11 seconds, 400m in 49 seconds, high jump 6'6", had a 48" vertical jump, and could clean and jerk somewhere in the neighborhood of 400#. Pretty amazing for someone 7'1" and 275-300#. He also was intelligent and fairly articulate.

He was notoriously poor at free throws, but was 28 of 32 in his 100 point game IIRC.

When the Bucks beat the Lakers to end their 33 game win streak in '72 Kareem was fouled and went to the floor. He got to his feet before the Laker (Happy Hairston?) and sucker punched him as he getting up. Wilt came down the floor and Kareem disappeared into the stands.

I don't know when society placed this weird value on actors/sports players. Like they have some mystical intelligence or some shit. lebron, shut the hell up and put the ball in the hole, chief. Outside of that, I really don't want to hear anything out of some halfwitt basketball/football/baseball player.

I'm amazed that "celebrities" keep letting the media sucker them into exposing themselves that way, given the long trail of celebrities who have humiliated themselves in public by being adamant on subjects they never really bothered to understand.

The Bron James is an immensely talented basketball player, who's made an obscene amount of money and is the head of the gravy train to a lot of people's employment. The amount of marketing/PR/branding infrastructure around him is nauseating and its resulted in him reading up on his press clippings and thinking his opinion outside of his work and business interests is important to the world. His comments around China and the NBA reveled his ass and poor understanding of larger issues.
