Have you noticed or are there in your life those kind of people that will systematically call you or share with you on a Friday, (too late to do anything about it but be sour and sick or mad) some sort of unpleasant news you could have handled normaly and easily if given at the right time but they waited past the last minute so it will surely ruin your weekend and make it miserable? It took us some time but eventually we discovered a pattern and identified those toxic persons around us who would do that to us on a regular basis and managed to disarm the situation, avoiding the knee jerk reaction they expected. The finesse we now apply to these sickening news makes the messengers even more frustrated. We learned not to react but to act. No more screwing around with our OODA cycles. Not necessarily just on Fridays. Response: Lack of planning on your part does not justify it as an emergency on my part. In my corner of the .gov, bad news invariably comes via email at 1600 on Friday. Bastards. It's also invariably bad news that could've waited until Monday.

^^^^^^^^^ Yeah these are generally unhappy people who want you to be as miserable as they are. There also those that use this as a tactic. Being served with a subpoena on Christmas eve seems to be a rather common tactic.

My oldest stepdaughter has an emergency nearly every weekend resulting in me needing to take my Grandson. If we have plans and can't do it, we are worthless pieces of shit, according to her. Yes, rejections by insurance companies for medical claims seem to always arrive on Saturdays together with the bills from the doctor or the facility requesting immediate payment. On the Christmas Eve thing. Late 1970's the general manager of the car dealership I worked at (I was assistant parts manager) gave instructions that we were to terminate one of our parts drivers because of something he said, a totally innocent thing, to the general manager at the company Christmas party. It was the young man's first real job and what he said was on the line of "Am I doing a good job?". The general manager took offense to this innocent but stupid question asked by a eighteen year old kid. My manager tried to change that directive or to at least have it delayed until after the holidays. Of course the morning we were instructed to terminate him was December 24th by the close of business that day. The parts manager and I both chose to "do the deed" together. When the young man asked why all we could say was the decision was made higher up than us. The kid teared up and left the office. The parts manager and I both felt like turds, what else could we have done. I dealt with stuff like that until I left almost two years later. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A.
