Dances With Tornados |
I'm fascinated by language and communication. "The local performers' Oklahoma accents were so strong that the producer decided to erase the soundtrack and re-record the dialogue with professional actors." "The Lawton Story was described as "the only film that had to be dubbed from English to English." I'll repeat that: "The Lawton Story was described as "the only film that had to be dubbed from English to English." HAHAHAHA The Lawton Story is about the Easter Pageant and Passion Play of Easter. If you were in the Army you knew of Fort Sill, it's a basic training base for new recruits and if you were in artillery school it is the USArmy artillery training location. (Forum member "Artie" in Florida, you were there?) "Paging member "Edmond" I know you were stationed there. For years I'd heard of this movies existence but had never seen it. About 10 years ago it came on late at night near Easter. Yes, telephone poles in the background, some people wearing wrist watches, it was a lower than low budget movie. It's rarely shown, I'd love to get a copy of it. LINK to the Lawton Story info And FWIW they still do the Easter Pageant Passion Play, here is a LINK to current info , it's still done and is quite popular in the area. For many it's a tradition to attend between Palm Sunday Eve and Easter Eve. . | |||
