Small victories

For those who don’t know, a few post up, there’s a pic of the brothers in an army uniform.

In the navy and CG you can tell the rank by the stripes on an officers sleeve, down near the cuff. Is the army the same way? I looked and couldn’t find anything. And it appears the army has changed uniforms since that picture.

One brother has 2 thin gold stripes and the other has the same but with the middle with a silver filler between the stripes. Does anyone know their ranks?

Seeing too many hot takes from the DC punditocracy who claim that Angie Nixon defeated Alex Vindman because socialism is so popular nowadays. Well I'm sure it is in some states, but NOT in Florida.

Vindman lost because he is a deep state establishment plant who carpetbagged to Florida a few weeks before announcing a statewide campaign here. He has zero connection to Florida and does not understand the state. I moved here more than 5 years ago and have been to all 67 counties due to my work. I STILL have a lot to learn about Florida. Vindman knows less than nothing about this state. That goes for his out-of-state backers too.

What's more, Vindman insulted the same Florida Democrats he needed to win over, when he repeatedly refused to debate Nixon and pretended he had this election in the bag. Basically he told voters "I do not need to earn your votes." That is called HUBRIS.

Nixon is a far-left lunatic ... but she won because she is FROM FLORIDA. She has been a fixture in Florida politics for years, and she knows how to grab attention with her antics in Tallahassee.

The good thing is @AshleyMoodyFL is also from Florida, she was born here and is a fifth-generation Floridian, and she is a solid accomplished conservative. I have no doubt she will defeat Nixon in November.

That angie Nixon is a complete freak and has no chance Vs Moody I’m a statewide contest.

Nixon wants to end private prisons, release felons, says these prisons are just using the laws and courts to get free or low cost labor from inmates, that these people are in jail to work.

Ashley Moody is a good candidate and from what I heard many of the pundits moved her to a Solid lock for the slot once Nixon was in the race...

This is the dress blues uniform. Rank is on the shoulder boards - for this toad a lieutenant colonel is a silver oak leaf. All officers have the two gold stripes on the sleeve; the color represents their assigned branch - light blue representing infantry. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the uniform is still in vogue.

The winner of the Democrat primary for Governor, Jolly, said he didn't believe in any of Nixon's positions in his winners speech.

“I reject socialism. I embrace capitalism. I reject the DSA,“ Jolly said from his victory party in Miami Lakes, referencing the Democratic Socialists of America.

President Donald Trump is calling for Alex Vindman to face prosecution after the former impeachment figure suffered a stunning defeat in Florida’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary. Vindman entered Tuesday’s primary widely expected to defeat Florida state Sen. Angie Nixon and advance to the general election against Republican Sen. Ashley Moody.

Instead, Democratic voters delivered a major upset, handing Nixon a double-digit victory and abruptly ending Vindman’s Senate campaign.

Trump celebrated the result Wednesday while reviving his longstanding criticism of Vindman over his role in the first impeachment battle.

“The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can’t speak or think properly, and who will go down to certain defeat at the hands of Ashley Moody, a truly Fantastic Senator, from the Great State Florida,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump then turned his attention back to the 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that became the centerpiece of Democrats’ first impeachment effort against him.

“Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my ‘Perfect Call’ with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!),” Trump wrote.

“It was, indeed, a Perfect Call, and the Dumocrats Fake Impeachment effort massively failed. Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did!”

Vindman, then an Army lieutenant colonel serving on the National Security Council, emerged as a prominent figure during the impeachment proceedings after raising concerns about Trump’s July 2019 conversation with Zelensky.

Democrats accused Trump of improperly pressuring the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden and his family while military assistance to Ukraine was being withheld. Trump repeatedly denied wrongdoing and maintained that his conversation with Zelensky was appropriate.

The Democrat-controlled House ultimately impeached Trump in December 2019. The Republican-controlled Senate acquitted him on both articles in February 2020.

Vindman later became a prominent anti-Trump political figure before launching his bid for the Senate in Florida.

His political debut ended Tuesday with an upset few observers expected.

The result leaves Nixon, a Democratic Socialists of America-backed state lawmaker, facing Moody in November — while Trump is making clear that, as far as he is concerned, Vindman’s election defeat should not be the end of the story.
