Garmin Fenix 7. Rubber band already has a cut in it. Replacement Garmin bands can get up to 150-200$ quickly. Can I put any cloth or leather 22mm band on it? Are watches pretty similar in how the bands fit? I’ve never been able to wear it at work because of the SCIF. But now I’ll need it everyday. Nine years to retirement! Just waiting!

You could use a 22mm NATO-style passthrough cloth strap. If you're interested, shoot me your mailing address by text, and I'll mail you a smattering of 22mm cloth straps. Edit: Looks like a NATO-style strap would block the heart sensor, so may be a no go.

No, it's not the same as a typical watch band. Here is what I use. They are decent quality, comfortable and durable. Link

I’m not sure where you’re seeing bands for $150-200, but I’ve bought genuine Garmin bands for my Fenix6 for $40-50 from Garmin. I’ve tried non Garmin bands before and they just weren’t as good Does the 7 have a fancy band? P229

On Garmin's website. Once you get higher than the rubber bands, price jumps quickly, $149, $199, $299. Nine years to retirement! Just waiting!

Here's what AI said when I asked if your watch used conventional spring bars: Yes, the Garmin Fenix 7 does use spring bars—but not the conventional kind you'd find on most standard watches. It employs Garmin’s proprietary QuickFit® system, which integrates specialized spring bars designed to work with QuickFit bands. Key Details: - These spring bars are not easily removable without cutting, according to Garmin’s own guidance. They recommend having a jeweler or professional handle replacements to avoid damaging the watch. - The Fenix 7 supports 22mm QuickFit bands (for the standard model), which snap securely into place using the spring bar mechanism but allow for tool-free band changes. - Aftermarket options do exist, including oversized 2.0mm spring bars with 1.6mm tips, which are compatible with Garmin Fenix models if you're customizing or replacing bands.
