So much for the haters.

I have a 2014 Tundra double-cab with the 8 foot bed. It looks like ass without a lift and larger tires, but I love the capacity of the longbed. So I put a Rough Country 4.5 inch lift on it with airbags in the rear and 12x35-20 wheels and tires. Looks much better and when I load 1500-2000 lbs in the rear I just put about 50 psi in the bags and level it up. It rides better with some weight in the rear anyway. I can't tell any difference in the ride quality from stock. It is a truck after all.

Yeah, I use it as a truck all the time.

I used a leveling kit on my 2010 Suburban to gain some ground clearance so when out in the pastures hunting I don't catch the front and rear bumpers. Also removed the air dam from below the front bumper after having it ripped off the first time in the field. Did not want to do a full lift. Works OK and haven't caught a bumper since.

I want my 4x4 leveled whether it has a trailer or not, aesthetically speaking. It never quite works out that way, but that's what I'd prefer... some sort of air bag or hydraulic setup that auto-levels based on load and still rides nice. Instead mine happens to be almost level with no kit, and sags in the ass a bit under heavier loads, but I do prefer the leveled look.

So after you level it then you throw in a load or some tools and now your truck looks like a dog dragging his butt across the floor. Wink
I have more pressing things in my life that I spend my time on. How the "rake" of my truck makes me feel as a person is pretty low on the list.

I have the Zone Off Road UCA 2" level on my 2014 Ram, just couldn't stand the 3" rake back to front.

It still tows what I need it to and hauls just fine. I was dragging my brother's Ranger 900 Crew around a few weeks back and the ass end sat level with the front, no front end pointing in the air or anything. Other than that I generally use it to haul hunting gear back and forth on trips so no issues there either.

I added a Rough Country spring leveling kit (not the coil blocks) to my 1999 F150 2months after I bought it.
19yrs later it's still going & holding level.
My truck is 2wd and I bought it with a color matched cap so I could pick up lumber & deliver the furniture I made to the shops I was selling thru in inclimate weather.
But the low stance combined with the cap made it look like a tall station wagon .
At least to me anyway, but I bought the truck I needed vs the truck I wanted.
The lift / leveling kit took it to stock 4wd ride height.
Its hauled & towed everything for the three additions we put on our home (minus the garage / shop trusses) and building my wife's cottage.

Honestly, to answer your question, it's an appearance thing.
I knew I was going to keep my truck for a while (20yrs in 3 months) so I'd better like the looks of it.

*** if they made this same body style I'd buy it again !

Any idea what brand of tires and rims you went with? I went through some options at Tirerack, but seeing actual pictures is better.

Toyo Open Country A/T 285/75R15's. The rims are stock 18" GMC rims, I liked the look of them and swapped out the GMC center caps for some bowties.

And rolling coal in a truck with a 12" lift kit and 40 series tires on 24" time that stick out 3"+ past the fenders is a bigger crock of "look at me, I'm an 8 year old in a man's body" BS.

In reality, I don't care how anyone else uses THEIR truck.

I have a 2005 3/4 ton Duramax and I have always wanted to level the front end out a few inches. What do installed leveling kits run?
