chongosuerteBest sub-$100 compact binoculars?
I've tried a monocular before, albeit a cheap one, and find I much prefer binos.
I used a friend's pair of Nikons like I linked while sitting in the very back of a theatre for a play. They worked well, but wanted to check with the All Knowing to see if there was better.
I like the Steiners I have. Spent many hours looking through them doing surveillance. I may just spring for their compact ones linked above.
Night before last we were rolling to what came in as a DV with the suspect actively shooting...was thinking to myself "those damn new binos might come in handy right about now"
We got lucky...in more ways than one...but I need a small pair in my small bag. Those big 10x50s won't fit.

old rugged crossC, call these guys. Having a huge sale. Really good guys. They will get you what you need at a great price. Probably get a better product than you think you can afford. These guys are pro's when it comes to optics.

41I would ask on the Gary Reeder board. He sells a lot of optics such as scopes and binoculars.
