Local officials have called for a curfew of 3:30 p.m. local time for the capital city of Baghdad, Iraq, amid unrest at the government palace, according to reports.

The protesters went to the palace to protest the announcement of Sadr's retirement from politics, a move that could cause severe political unrest in the country.

Followers of Sadr have stormed the Iraqi Parliament in the past in an attempt to prevent the formation of a new government made up of rivals to Sadr, according to the Associated Press.

From PJ Media:

What’s going on in Iraq?

In a word: Iran.

Al-Sadr’s statement appears to be a reaction the retirement of Shiite spiritual leader Ayatollah Kadhim al-Haeri, who counts many of al-Sadr’s supporters as followers. Al-Haeri said he would be retiring as a religious authority and called on his followers to support Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, seen as a blow to al-Sadr.
At first glance, the chaos in Iraq looks something like a semi-legal coup, backed by Iran. At the very least, it’s political chaos engineered by local forces friendly to Iran.

Stay tuned.

Just a little reminder: President Trump had worked to weaken Iran after Obama wanted to strengthen Iran over the Arab Sunni countries. The Abraham Accords were not just about Israel and the Palestinian territories, but about a tacit alliance between Israel and the Arab countries against Iran.

Once again the current administration is weak, on the wrong side, incapable of doing the right thing.

GWB didn’t have the balls to give the order when we had a chance. Don’t even get me started.
