old rugged crossu-haul trailer rental question state to state question.
So I am looking at a one way rental to haul a John Deere rider from a family member to another in a different state. What are my options?

tigereye313Rented an enclosed Uhaul and moved some furniture from FL to TX a few years back. Apart from being a somewhat slower trip, no issues at all.

ffips4'x6' up to 6'x12' enclosed.
There are some utility style open also available.
Your options will depend on what is in stock at time of tental and what your budget allows.
All will be same size ball 1 7/8" -2" will work. The car haulers have surge brakes. Nothing else has brakes. All use standard 4 pin flat except the car hauler.

StramboI just rented a 6x12 cargo trailer. They do have a 6x12 cargo with ramp if the dimensions and weight of the tractor will work. Note some trailers are local use only (last one I rented was).
Just go online and use their booking system, it will then say "pending" or something like that, then they will either confirm what you want is available and lock it in or let you know otherwise.
Edit: if you are taking it to another state and returning, a "local only" trailer will still work, it may mean paying for more rental days, but trailers are "unlimited miles" (with no way to know) and you'll be dropping off at same as pickup location. The 6x12 I rented was $30 per day.

Expert308Don't know why that would require it to be covered. I rented an auto transporter trailer from UHaul last summer to move a friend's daughter from Portland to Denver for college. Picked it up here and returned it there. No issues.

The only open trailer that can go one way is a 5'X9" open trailer with a ramp. The only exceptions are for local only open trailers that were not dropped at the owning location. We try to send them one way to, or closer to, the owning location in an attempt to get them home.

GeorgeairIf you're coming back without a long stay, price locally as well. May be cheaper to return to origin.

So if I rent it locally for a couple of days and return it to the same location I am good. Even if I take it out of state for a day or two?

As long as you don't go into Mexico (Which is stated in the contract), you are GTG. It's nice to be appreciated.

Chris42Old Rugged Cross - I think you could rent it as a “Local”, take it around the world and return it to the place you got it and it would STILL be a local rental....
