California fire question
MY sister in law lost her home in the Paradise Fire She is here with us this evening and still is suffering from PTSD. She got out with her Cat and the clothes on her back. Her house was fully engulfed 10 min after she left per her neighbor. Propane tanks were exploding She has a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. She was driving in a FireStorm where it was raining hot embers and she had to drive over the road where the embers made the road look like it was on fire. She said she drove over a burning telephone wires The CHP car on the way down was fully engulfed with fire the tire of many cars were on fire.

We went back up there when they allowed us to and there were cars in the middle of parking lots fully burned to the ground because the rain of fire set them off. Hundreds of feet from any other structure... winds in this fire were 80 mph plus. the fire creates it's own wind. It was pitch black at 9am in the morning. and earlier. moving faster than you could run. it was burning the equivalent of a football field every second.

Watch the following Paradise fire movie and you will understand more

IF You have Netflix you should dump it they are scum... I am in the process of getting rid of Netflix..... However, the Fire in Paradise is very informative as well here is a trailier.

In the late 90's, I was working fires in the area, out of Chico, and on a day off, drove up through Paradise. Neat place. I recall a cloud layer along the mountain, and a large billboard that said "You are ascending into Paradise." As I passed the sign, I drove into the cloud, and emerged on top, in Paradise. Sure enough.

My thought at the time was, "this place will burn to the ground." It was only a matter of time.

Seems you saw reality that the past three CA governors ignored or denied.

Nothing to do with california. I saw what any other firefighter would have seen: homes built in the forest, complete urban interface, inadequate road access (typical of many rural communities), limited escape, few resources, ample ladder fuels, and extensive fuel beds beyond, in a mountainous location.

I don't care if it's Colorado or California or Montana. Same thing applies. It's not a matter of if it will burn. Just when.

Seems to me that every year California is on fire and multiple homes are being burned.... you would think someone would eventually get the message.

CA did get the message. Mandate electric vehicles to reduce man's carbon footprint. Roll Eyes
