I had my yearly visit with Kidney and Cardiologist
Yep, it comes up once a year for the cardiologist and twice a year for the kidney guy (Nephrologists) Every thing is positive. Blood test show stable or improved results on all fronts. I told them about our family gathering on Christmas Eve, which resulted in 4 family members testing positive for covid, and I had a slight go-round with congestion, head ache, and a little chills for one day which where gone the next. I also told her it was near impossible to get a test. She said since I was fully vaccinated, not to get too concerned with getting a test. She said since it was a mild occurrence, and it's been over a week, chances are I'd test negative no mater if I actually had some form of covid or not, and no doubt I'm out of the window of spreading, but could stay in for a day or so to be sure. Love this doctor.

Don’t take this wrong, I am just curious.

Why do people feel the need to post such personal stuff on open forums?

Maybe it’s impossible to get truthful data on what’s happening medically with this disease?

Maybe reaching out to others and not being isolated is helpful?

Because I had such a positive meeting with my doctors, even with some negative things resulting in my family gathering which she put to easy. I thought some could learn a bit by that. Take it for what you will. Just some guys talking you know.

I have found this to be the truth ... and helpful getting other's perspective, especially on this forum where there is a wealth of knowledge and helpful suggestions on all topics.

I for one am pleased to hear of good outcomes. Some of us have no family to share with--SF is our family.

Yeah, me too. I feel good about sharing good news myself. Too much bad news in todays world.

Glad to hear all is good.

While the second sentence sounds reasonable, I'm not sure the first sentence is good advice given that people who had the shot are still ending up in the hospital.

Generally curious - if a person with covid has mild symptoms, can he only transmit a mild version? Or can the same variant result in either mild or severe symptoms depending on the recipient?

^^^^^^^^^^^^
It depends entirely upon the immune system of the recipient.

Mild symptoms does not necessarily translate to the milder variant. Your immunity status is a huge factor as stated by others.

FYI - there are literally thousands of variants.

What does it matter? Not saying this is the case with the OP, but for some members here, the membership is more dear to them than most family members. Seems like a shitty question to ask when a man takes the time to bear his soul to friends … whether face-to-face or virtual.

Of course those that contract the disease will be affected based on a lot of things mostly accountable to their immune system and general health. Those who were previously infected, and those vaccinated will likely have less sever cases. Not guaranteed, but that's the general consensus.

To the several posts above about why put personal stuff...

I think it's fine and sometimes helpful and sometimes sad. But even though I'm not in the major leagues among posters I've been here a long time and feel that I know a number of you.

If a guy wants advice on a particular med procedure you can get some pretty good dope to put into your considerations. Some docs of various stripes for med, cops for street advice, lawyers for grannies will.

As far as 'public' goes. I would post stuff here I wouldn't put on the bulletin board at work, if I went to work, which I don't, but you get the idea.
