The lawsuit, filed by Arne Wilberg, a white male who worked at Google for nine years, including four years as a recruiter at YouTube, alleges the division of Alphabet Inc.’s Google set quotas for hiring minorities. Last spring, YouTube recruiters were allegedly instructed to cancel interviews with applicants who weren’t female, black or Hispanic, and to “purge entirely” the applications of people who didn’t fit those categories, the lawsuit claims.

A Google spokeswoman said the company will vigorously defend itself in the lawsuit.

People familiar with YouTube’s and Google’s hiring practices in interviews corroborated some of the lawsuit’s allegations, including the hiring freeze of white and Asian technical employees, and YouTube’s use of quotas…

Google denies using any quotas in hiring (which would be illegal) and I have no doubt they have an army of lawyers who will “vigorously defend” that stance in court. Still, it’s interesting that people working for different segments of Google seem to be reporting the same kind of intentional discrimination aimed at creating racial and gender equity.

They also began censoring about the same time. Coincidence? I think not.

Whatever happened to hiring the most qualified for the job? Seems like a no brainer using that criteria, as you wouldn't be discriminating against any race, creed or color

Affirmative Action happened. It ended racial bias by applying racial bias. Because racial bias is wrong....er something.

Quotas are illegal??

My company is very loud about the % of diversity targets we have. If you interview a white male you have to interview a "minority" from their list of approved minorities, and every corporate speech they update is in where we are towards the target diversity number.

Females, blacks and Hispanics.......a large part of the Democrat party. Setting up to put democrats in the workplace?

Even though I am a 65 yr old white male, I identify myself as a single black female that is disabled with a college degree. F them.

Years ago I interviewed for a teaching position at a Bay Area college, the personnel secretary commented (off the record) the college extended the application deadline because they didn't get enough of the "right kind" of applicants.

I did make it to the final round of interviews with the VP of Instruction, the Dean, and the Director of Diversity. One of the first questions was along the lines of how I promote diversity (social justice) in the classroom. I responded that I treat everyone equally regardless of gender choice, ethnicity, religion, culture, etc. Wrong answer (it is my job to favor anything that is not white male).

Seems now social justice (diversity, tolerance, equality) now includes environmental justice.

Subsequent annual faculty training taught me that on the whole, white males are arrogant, privileged, usually guilty of microagressions, even if unknown and unintended, they can't help it.

I feel better knowing the EPA is in charge of enforcing environmental justice.

A guest I heard on the Glen Beck radio show sort of explained how we lost our Unum. He said as opposed to a university we are now devided by diversity. And yes, all due to politics from the left. It was interesting commentary.
